Immersion boiler
« on: October 16, 2017, 07:19:25 PM »
Does anybody have an immersion boiler?

We don't know anything about them but or new house has one. Just this morning when we turned on hot water it started making the god awful noise that lasted for ten minutes or so.

I've reported it to the landlord but I was wondering if anybody else has one of these boilers?

I think this is what we have and it makes a little sound but it is okay.  We had a plumber in recently as it wasn't working very well before--the overflow tank needed to be replaced.  I think that's the right word for it but I'm not sure.  So since he has been in it makes the same sound so it seems to be normal.  But let me know what your landlord/plumber says?

Yes definitely will. A friend from work said something about it being clogged and call a plumber asap! Then I read it could be some little ball that needs replacing?

It doesn't do it when we take showers though only when we run the taps, it's strange.

That could be it.  We needed the whole overflow tank replaced but it wasn't a huge thing.  The plumber came and fixed it in like 3 hours including a trip to the hardware store to get a piece he didn't have on him.

Does yours have a tundish where you can see through?  Is there water dripping into it?

Turns out it's the shower pump. Still hasn't been fixed the landlords not responding to the property management people. Fantastic especially since my parents are here and the plumber said the shower could go any time.
