Bizarrely, I caught a lot of flak from my UK family for not donning top hat and tails...
HOW DID YOU MAKE THAT BOUQUET!?
Let's think about this. There are 12 months in a year. You can only go away from Christmas for 6 months before you start heading towards it again. So, I can legitimately start looking towards Christmas from June! I'm laughing at the idea of people reading this and their brain exploding as they shout NO!
I have three words for you: Christmas. In. July.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_in_July(Also, how have I missed this thread? You guys are having a lot of fun in here!)
A few days after I arrived in the Falklands a few years ago, I went to dinner as normal one evening and discovered it was Christmas... it was June 25th, and they were celebrating FIXMAS (Falkland Islands Christmas). It was very odd to be drinking mulled wine and eating Christmas Dinner, with Christmas music playing and decorations all around, when just a week or two earlier, I'd been enjoying 23-degree temperatures and sunshine in the UK summer .
But how was the weather down there? Did it have the right feel?
Husband asked me if he was good to start wearing Christmas Jumpers yet....I told him he has to wait until Black Friday/Thanksgiving has passed...THEN it will be acceptable LOL
Got a new Christmas jumper yesterday! The decks go up the first week of December. So excited! Nearly there! Yo Ho Ho!
