They have just asked for bank statements.

I actually sent all my pay slips for both jobs as thought ' better to be safe than sorry

Didn't do the same with bank statements though  :o

That’s good that you sent all the payslips... that’s probably why they requested the extra bank statements rather than refusing... because you almost had everything :).

You have to prove 2 things with your income:
1) your payslips show at least £1,550 before tax
AND
2) the exact net amount on every single payslip was paid into a bank account in your name

Hence the reason for needing all the bank statements too - they have to confirm the deposit of each payslip.

If I get home (still at work) and find pay slips from my last school that i didn't send, should I scan and email them, along with the  bank statements?

Yeah, I would - you have the opportunity to send the bank statements, so there’s no harm in including any payslips you might have missed as well

Awesome.

Yeah, be sure they have 12 full months of bank statements and 12 full months of payslips.  Lucky break!

Thanks, hopefully our luck is turning around.

I can't find the pay slips where they are kept (I'm ocd about my paperwork) so I'm assuming I sent them. If I hadn't, I'm sure they would have asked me for them - or flat out refused our application.

Update....

Type of application:  Priority
Date of online application:  12 Dec 17
Biometrics appointment: 15 Dec 17
Date documents received in Sheffield:  22 Dec 17
Date received “application not straight forward” email and request for company bank statements from Dec 16 to Mar 17: 23 Jan 18*
Decision email:  Still waiting
Documents returned:  Still waiting

*My company was incorporated Dec 16 but the company bank account wasn’t set up until Mar 17. Prior to Mar 17 I operated through an umbrella company and had earnings deposited into my personal bank account. I provided personal bank statements between Dec 16 and Dec 17 and payslips from the umbrella company between Dec 16 and Mar 17. Explained it all in a cover letter too.  Now getting a letter from my company’s bank confirming when the account was set up. Fingers crossed....

Just a tip for future reference, I always make a complete copy of everything l submit with an application, that way you don’t have to worry if you remembered to submit something or not.

Did you submit all of the items on the self-employment list?  What financial year did you use for your company for the visa?

We used the full 12 month financial year from the date of incorporation of my company and submitted everything on the self-employment list except the company bank statements between Dec 16 to Mar 17.  We explained in the cover letter why they were missing (i.e. the account wasn't set up) and provided 12 months of personal bank statements for the same period, noting in the cover letter my earnings were paid directly into my personal bank account between Dec 16 to Mar 17 (taxed at source).  We also provided payslips from my umbrella company for the period Dec 16 to Mar 17.

Excellent.  Glad they asked for the missing item.  :)

Thanks! Me too. I’m just hoping they exercise discretion and accept our explanation as to why we can’t provide the bank statements and don’t refuse the application on the basis we cannot provide them.
