Just curious, as myself and 2 others have mid Jan package delivered dates (Jan 10 for me) and we haven’t seen anything, how is this the fastest processing time? I am on week 4 today (BD 21 counting date accepted) and I feel like this is pretty slow compared to the 2-3 bd some people claimed last year. Do they manipulate the stats by randomly fast tracking some? Did we 3 happen to pick the worst week to have our documents received?

What are the dates for the January - Feb people on the website? (Not that I expect you to calculate this) I am just starting to really get anxiety as we are in limbo and friends/family constantly ask why it’s taking so long. Maybe it feels longer when you’re the person living it but I’d love to see actual stats of timelines for the users on here.

Pity party over (sorry) :/

Have the biggest pity party that you'd like, because honestly the process is horrible. I'm at almost 50 business days (non-priority) and never even received the email stating the my documents were received. I'm just sitting here not patiently at all waiting to hear ANYTHING. My friends and family have been asking me since December if I've heard anything.

Let's see what we have from Dec 2017 and Jan 2018:

Soccer4ja9
- Package arrived in Sheffield: Dec 27th 2017
- Decision email sent: Jan 17th 2018
Processing time = 14 business days

midori87
- Package arrived in Sheffield: Dec 29th 2017
- Decision made: 8th Jan 2018
Processing time = 6 business days

nwkh
- Received in Sheffield: 2nd Jan 2018
- Decision email: 24th Jan 2018
Processing time = 17 business days

sunshine
- Documents received in Sheffield: 8th Jan 2018
- Decision made: 11th Jan 2018
Processing time = 4 business days

wandering_nomad
- Documents received in Sheffield: 8th Jan 2018
- Decision made: 12th Jan 2018
Processing time = 5 business days

roamingbee
- Documents received in Sheffield: 9th Jan 2018
- Decision made: 11th Jan 2018
Processing time = 3 business days

Those are the fastest times we've seen since mid-February 2017.

But it is very hit or miss... it may be that the applications processed in 3-6 business days were just handed to someone who didn't have any others to process and did them right away. Or Sheffield might have received a large number of applications after these ones were picked up but right before yours arrived. Or maybe the person who has the pile with your application in it has gone sick or on vacation... there's really no way to know what actually happens.

Sometimes they do seem to manipulate the stats although that generally happens towards the end of the month so they can meet the monthly deadline.

They're good numbers, though I don't think we've seen many (if any) decisions since these ones, so they may have slowed a bit again.

Calling will do absolutely nothing aside from the feeling that you are doing something. I can tell you right now that they will tell you the whole 12 weeks spiel. Save your money - you can lament here, you have a "room" full of people who have gone or are going through the same thing and I promise that we're all very good listeners and commiserate with you. In a few months, you'll likely be in the UK with your spouse or partner  :)

So as BD 27 total and BD 11 since the ‘not straightforward’ email passes by i am curious. As said before the application was months in the planning, every i was dotted and every T crossed to ensure that every piece of accompanying supporting evidence etc was bona fide , in date and legitimate. So firstly what is deemed ‘not straightforward’ and if further checks need to be done just how long does that take in this day and age of electronic mail and fax etc. Secondly if it is just an automated email meaning nobody has picked it up or whatever, again really? Why do they quote in the email “is under consideration” “has not been straightforward” and “We are continuing to work on your application” Are these basically just lies?

Okay rant over!! 😤

Have you contacted your MP to see if they can ascertain what the delay is?

Typically:
"is under consideration":  we've received your application and it's sitting in the pile waiting to be assessed
"has not been straight forward":  two scenarios here.  1.  The application is approaching 60 business days since received and the system sends out the email automatially.  Has no meaning.  2.  The application has been assessed but something needs further clarification.
"we are continuing to work on your application":  application is still in the pile

If you are calling or emailing the paid for service - don't.  It'll just drive you mental.  They don't have access to your application.  Use your MP.   :)

Honestly, my advice:

Step away from the computer and try to take your mind off it for a while. You’re only stressing yourself out by constantly checking and worrying over the application.

Take a few days away from the forum and go do something fun to take your mind off it.

If you get to the end of March (60 working days) and you still haven’t heard anything THEN you can start worrying.

Completely agree.  And we know this is much easier said than done.  :)

Did your "application not straight forward" email not give a reason or ask you to provide more information?

I am at BD 21 now but I never received any kind of not straightforward email. Which makes me think its just completely random when they send out emails or that my application did not get put into priority. Arnt you supposed to get one of those emails after the 30 BD mark if youre priority?
