Did your "application not straight forward" email not give a reason or ask you to provide more information?

No nothing whatsoever, hence the feeling of frustration is multiplied.

I am at BD 21 now but I never received any kind of not straightforward email. Which makes me think its just completely random when they send out emails or that my application did not get put into priority. Arnt you supposed to get one of those emails after the 30 BD mark if youre priority?

I’ve no idea. Ours came literally just after the ‘flurry’ that occurred last month. We were both thinking yes we must be next and soon! And then we got that email.

Well, this made me feel a little better. Looking at the timeline from March - Oct looks like average wait was about 25 BD. Makes me feel better because I just finished BD 21 and I know a lot of us are around that timeframe now as well. So hopefully that makes others here feel a little better.

Our time is coming!

Trying to take the advice to not think about this, but ya know... been apart from my husband for over half our marriage... (not bitter at all about that though...)
Application submitted: December 25
Biometrics Complete: January 5
Documents sent: January 5 (priority)
Confirmation Email (after a slight panic attack inducing misstep from UPS): Jan 10
Decision Email: February 20
Passport returned: February 22 APPROVED!

So the non straight forward email doesn’t ask for any more information? It’s just a stall tactic?

You’ll find that’s the general consensus of opinion yes. Wether it is or not who knows for sure.

The 'non-straightforward' email seems to be generic, whereas if they need you to send more information, they will contact you in a separate email to ask for it and will give you instructions and a deadline within which to send the information they require.

Nothing here either. Best guess, we are all on the same desk and our guy was on vacation 😂

Nobody heard in the non-priority thread either. One person got a "not straightforward" email, but it was BD 59 from the date that the application was submitted, so we're all assuming that was an auto generated one.

Everyone that I'm aware of who is waiting on non-priority is getting close to 60 BD and all of you in non-priority seem to be beyond 15 business days. Hoping for some movement soon on anyone's application.

When I talked with a woman on the (non) help line, she said that the days start counting from when you submitted the application. Is this when you are counting your BD or is it from the biometrics appt or confirmation email?

The call line (I refuse to call them a help line as they don't help), doesn't really know the intricacies of different countries applications.  USA applications start counting business days from the date of the email that "documents were received".  Not biometrics or application.

Well, that's an interesting question. For the non-priority people, I think that I've noticed that the not straightforward emails have been getting generated based on the application date/biometrics date (it's hard to tell because these two are generally pretty close together).

For me personally, I've just been counting since the day my documents arrived because I never receive the email stating that they did. However, if I go off of my application date, I should be expecting a not straightforward email late next week or the week after.
