So sorry skiing... Can you share the wording of the refusal letter, omitting any personal details? That way we’ll be able to try to help you fix it.

Like larrabee said, if you can share the exact refusal wording, we can help figure out exactly why you were refused and how you can fix it.

I will post the full details but basically they didn’t accept the paperwork from the selling of my portion of my late fathers house to my sister. They accepted the paperwork for the 74k (my 1/2) for a sell of inherited land to a third party but not the 35k from family sell. I had an affidavit of sell paperwork notarized included and they said no paperwork explaining the 35k.

Quick question gurus on here...I am closing on the sell of our home March 30th. Can I put the 35k that they rejected the paperwork into the mortgage to lower it so that my net proceeds would be the amount to go with the 74k that they already said I had correct paperwork for? This would give me the £62,500 I need and I have had the Home for over 2 years prior to sell. ?
Thanks!

We aren’t sure if we will reapply as we found this to be complete bull sh*t reason to deny us. But I want to make sure I ask about the house before it closes.

If you can post the entire exact wording of the refusal letter, we can help you better. Sometimes you have to read between the lines to figure out the exact reason for the refusal.

An appeal would take about a year and is unlikely to be successful unless you met all the requirements and included everything but they overlooked something and made a mistake in refusing it... but without seeing the refusal wording, I couldn't tell you if they did or not.

So, assuming you don't appeal, your options would be:
- reapply
or
- don't move to the UK at all

If it's simply a case of not having the correct paperwork for the 35K, you might be able to just gather the paperwork (if you can get it) and then reapply immediately using the 74K and the 35K.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean about the 35K and the mortgage from your house sale though.

I will post a separate thread when I get back home tonight to share the exact wording. But I don’t have any other paperwork I fought with the title company to even get what I provided. I doubt we appeal just because I don’t think it’s worth it. I guess what I am asking is since they didn’t accept my paperwork for the 35k then I’d like to just put that money on the mortgage prior to the close of our home. Then come April I can reapply using the sale of our home and sale of inherited property (74k). Otherwise I will have to wait until June to apply again because the 35k deposited in late Nov/ early dec.

Ah, okay - well, I would assume that without the paperwork proving that you owned the property for at least 6 months prior to the sale, and the evidence that you sold it, the 35K could not be counted and you would have had to wait until it had been in your account in full for at least 6 months before applying for the visa.

What I'm confused about is what you mean by 'put the money on the mortgage'? What will physically happen to the money when you sell the house?
