BD 35 and BD 19 since the ‘not straightforward’ email....still nothing here. We must be out of luck.

Any joy from your MP?

No joy from anywhere.
Being passed by left right and centre. Losing the will in all honesty, really am.

I'm very sorry about that.

How have you communicated with the MP?  I would NOT recommend email.  At a minimum, call, and ask when you should hear back.  Then call them back on that day.  Be the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.  :)

I would highly recommend trying to meet with your MP in person.  Have a very short factual summary with exactly what you want your MP to do (call UKVI ASAP and find out what has flagged your application to not be straightforward).

My apologies for not being clear, I have heard from my MP last Thursday to say he would contact UKVI (he was very responsive to be fair) and from his office on the Friday to say he had indeed contacted them and would reply when he’d received a response. But the ‘service standard’ is 60 days isn’t it so....

Yes, the service standard is 60 days.  BUT - you've received an email stating your application is not straight forward and won't necessarily be processed within the service standard.  That's what you need to press your MP to find out.  You are well within your right to get them to get answers for you.  :)

Stay strong!

I was specific in what I asked of him and that was only to find out why it wasn’t straightforward or what the delay was due to, nothing more than that.

He is also afraid that because it is taking so long it will be a refusal. I've told him that just because it is taking a long time doesn't automatically mean a refusal.  :-[

Exactly, it does not! :)  Our FLR(M) took literally double the time that everyone else's was taking and we still got it!  :)

We’re on BD 37 and BD 20 since the non straightforward email. I know it doesn’t neccesarily mean a refusal but I am still worried nontheless. Should my husband also be contacting his local MP about it or should we at least wait until the 60BD have passed. As I mentioned before, I was given limited entry back in October for declaring to apply from within the UK and my husband is self employed so we sent in a lifetime of paperwork Showing we more than meet the financial requirement. I have a feeling all these may slow it down but it just seems like there is no end in sight.  I also wonder if the same worker received mine, Southernboy’s, and Southernbetty’s applications and decided to take an extended vacation. We all seem to be in a similar boat.

I’m Southernbetty’s (applicant) other half, but yes we do seem in a similar boat!

With our luck, the ECO is currently celebrating Chinese New Year and will be gone for the next two weeks.
