Totally agree!

My theory is that they deliberately keep the process opaque to keep the number of successful applications to a minimum...call me a cynic!  :)

Yes it was. And yes I know they’re reputation but we were/are clutching at straws. And in fairness we do have things they may check externally, my military engagement, her minor misdemeanour from 25 years ago...so??!?! Or is it just an example of their placating you?

Apologies...after re checking the sender email address it’s from the same place the ‘not straightforward’ Email came from....the Sheffield one not the contact centre. Make a difference? Not seen it before personally.

This.  They don't have any access into your application.  They can simply see that it's "not straightforward" and therefore extra checks are needed.  External as they aren't part of UKVI.  :)

I'm sorry that I can't give you more reassurance.  Only that the not straightforward email DEFINITELY does NOT mean it's a refusal.  :)

Well as I said clutching at straws 😕 given we had everything in place they require, checked over by your good selves on here also. Just find it hard to believe it’s only to skew statistics after this long ( and I appreciate its 60 days etc). Since I’ve been on this forum I’ve not seen many take as long as our is. Especially when as I say we meet all criteria and submitted all that was required.

I know you did.  It's very unfair.  Feel free to vent away!  We will listen!   :)
