Hi Everyone,

Ideally my husband and i would like to submit our visa this weekend but there is one question on the sponsor details tab (him) asking " when did they arrive in the UK?"

i am REALLY confused by this question because he is a UK citizen and he has always resided there. We do travel back and forth every six weeks to see each other.

HELP!!!!

It's not a trick question :).

They just want to know if he's a UK citizen born in the UK, or if he is a foreign/dual citizen who moved to the UK on a visa and now holds permanent residence/UK citizenship, or if he is UK citizen born in another country but moved to the UK at a later date.

If he was born in the UK, you just put either his date of birth, or 'since birth'.

Or, if he was born in the UK, but lived overseas for a period of time, you just put the dates he has lived in the UK from and until.

I would imagine not, unless he gave up his UK Citizenship. But I am not an expert by any means. Just my thought. :)

Well, they want to know how many years and months he has lived in the UK.

So, you could put something like:

'A years and B months, from (Date Of Birth) to X date, and then from Y date to Present' (or whatever dates he lived in the UK).

Edited to add:

Though I guess it depends on whether the time in Spain and Sweden were just temporary and if he kept his residency in the UK during that time.

I.e. if he just spent a semester abroad in Spain, I probably wouldn't count that, but say he lived in Spain for 4 years, and moved his whole life to Spain, I would include that.

I just realized my proposed travel date may be off.  I have found very little information on priority processing times outside of this forum, so if ya'll could help me here...

I return to the USA (visiting UK now) at the end of March.  Planning to have everything ready to go when I arrive, so I can send in online app and schedule biometrics immediately.  I assume I can get biometrics done by the first few days of April, and ship my documents by, say, April 5th or so.  I do plan on buying priority services.

Currently I have my proposed travel date as June 5th.  I'm pretty sure I read here that you have 30 days from when you receive your visa (if you do pass) to travel to the UK.  So, if I send the application on April 5th,the priority service gets my application done and returned in less that 30 days, that means it would be over 30 days till June 5th.  Should I choose a sooner flight date?
