I just realized my proposed travel date may be off.  I have found very little information on priority processing times outside of this forum, so if ya'll could help me here...

I return to the USA (visiting UK now) at the end of March.  Planning to have everything ready to go when I arrive, so I can send in online app and schedule biometrics immediately.  I assume I can get biometrics done by the first few days of April, and ship my documents by, say, April 5th or so.  I do plan on buying priority services.

Currently I have my proposed travel date as June 5th.  I'm pretty sure I read here that you have 30 days from when you receive your visa (if you do pass) to travel to the UK.  So, if I send the application on April 5th,the priority service gets my application done and returned in less that 30 days, that means it would be over 30 days till June 5th.  Should I choose a sooner flight date?
The date should be the earliest you are ready to move, but with the knowledge it could potentially take much longer to receive the visa.

We've been approved.

Thank you all so much.

The relief is indescribable.

Best of luck to all those still waiting. I have shared your upset and frustration.

APPROVED!!! Thank you all so much for your support over this terribly horrible process. Still thinking of you all have been waiting longer than I did and wishing for a speedy yes!

Also, my letter was dated February 13, but only got my email on Tuesday. Does that mean it was sitting on someones desk for a week? Anyway, just happy i got it!

Excellent!!!  ;0)

Does the date have any influence on when you hear back? I'm guessing not or everyone would pick the earliest date possible!

My husband put 1 March as the "expected arrival date" which is now drawing rather close, although it seemed reasonable when we submitted the application in late January.

I haven't really dared think about what happens if we get the visa, but am I right in thinking if the visa will be valid for 30 days regardless of the expected arrival date that we put on the application?

Our date was Feb. 8th. It's come and gone and we are still waiting. I believe it will be dated from the date the visa is issued if your travel date passes and then valid for 30 days

They only see the date after they’ve assessed the application.  If the date has passed, they will issue the visa for 30 days from the approval date (give or take a week).

Thank you! Sorry to hear you are still waiting  >:(  Did you ever approach your MP? I'm interested in how accommodating they are to these kind of requests.

Yep. My husband contacted his MP on the 9th of February. We basically just asked if he could find out why our applications aren't straight forward. They've put the request in and said they'd let us know when they hear something. So now we wait on the MP too. Seems this entire process is just hurry up and wait.

In our case our MP was very accommodating. We contacted him on a Friday, he listened quite intently to our story and said he’d make a call for us, although he was very non-committal on what results he might get. On the following Monday he called to tell us he did speak with UKVI, but again, no promises. We then received our “Decision Made” email within a week. Don’t know if it was due to his call or just coincidence but we were very happy with his willingness to help and his quick action and response.
Arrived in UK:   22-Feb-2018
Nationality:  US Citizen; wife is UK Citizen
FLR(M)Online application:  25-Jul-2020 anticipated

Thank you both - that's good to hear now that I'm getting a little impatient and starting to think about when to approach my MP.

Have you received a not straight forward email?  Both Southernbetty and RichC had, which is what prompted them to contact their MP's.

While there is certainly no rule about when to contact an MP, most won't assist until you've passed the 12 week "service standard" set by UKVI.  Unless there are compassionate circumstances or something odd (such as the not straight forward email).

Hello,
We received the "not been straightforward" email two days before Southernbetty did. We just recently contacted my husband's local MP last Thursday via email. We are currently on BD 41 and feeling quite down about the waiting time. I will update when we hear back from him. I really hope we hear back this week.

I've not received anything yet - I suppose I need to be more patient!

I have a similar timeline and am struggling to be patient too. I keep checking back here in hopes someone close to my date has been approved!

Maybe they will need to push to meet Feb quotas soon . . .
