It would certainly be nice for the next couple of days to be a flurry of approvals!

I'm on business day 14 today and I'm not at all patient :/

I have a similar timeline and am struggling to be patient too. I keep checking back here in hopes someone close to my date has been approved!

Maybe they will need to push to meet Feb quotas soon . . .

BD 39 now. I keep reminding myself of a quote I heard somewhere, "Destiny delayed is not Destiny denied". We figure we have more days of waiting behind us than we do ahead of us. So any day now...

BD 14 here too. And it makes me sad seeing how there are others that are on BD 39. I flew back to the states mid January and didn’t realise until I was here that I needed things from England and the U.K., so I had to wait 3 weeks until I sent my documents in. So even though I’m on BD 14, it feels like BD 29. The thought of another month or 2 or 3 is quite disheartening. I’m crossing my fingers that people start getting approved.

On a second note, can people tell me what they provided for relationship proof. I am starting to think I didn’t provide enough and would like to send in a supplement. I know sending in docs after the fact is a hit or miss, but it would give me peace of mind.

I’ve started to second guess what I sent too...

For relationship evidence I included:
  • Annotated photos
  • A couple of Christmas cards
  • Screenshots of Skype calls over the years
  • Marriage certificate
  • Receipts for our flights (this is what I’m stressing about as we didn’t keep boarding passes)
  • Some letters and postage receipts
  • Some records from paypal to show we bought things together / sent money back and forth
  • A print out of our Facebook walls showing us posting photos together / posting on each others page with dates visible
I wish I’d  included some screen shots From email and Facebook messenger :(

It’s really not recommended to send fb stuff, not unless it’s your only option.

The best thing to do now is just breathe, and wait it out.

Even priority processing can take a while. :)

....I go in with the mindset I’ve already failed, it helps me from being disappointed

But don’t do what I do, you all just know that an ECO will get to your apps, and you’ve done what you can

It's really common to feel this way and question what you've sent after the fact.  Do you want to list what you included?  We can give you a level of comfort.

I wouldn't recommend trying to send anything in after the fact.  You don't want to do something they haven't asked for it an inadvertently slow your application down.

I'd like some comfort too, how does my list look? :P

Can I ask why not? I've seen it mentioned a lot- I wasn't sure the facebook stuff I included would help, it was more a case of just wanting to throw it in "just in case".

Your list looks good.  :)

I think the advise to not include Facebook is a bit outdated.  I haven't seen an issue with Facebook data in my time here (five years) but I know in the past it was considered an easy area to forge.  However, it's become so main stream that they see lots of Facebook stuff these days.  Heck, I bet people submit Snapchat!

I still carry around my list of documents that you all rearranged my docs for me in order, I used it as my checklist at UPS and now it just stays in the purse for me to look at when I panic

- marriage certificate
- photo of everyone at wedding
- boarding passes for flights over 4 years (not all, just a random selection of maybe 12)
- deed to the house we bought together
-bank statements over a year that have both our name on them (this was for the financial requirement, but I assume it counts towards relationship proof too)
- one random water bill (I found this in my old Aussie immigration folder and so I popped it in)
- acceptance letters of my spouse permanent residency visa of Australia (my husband is a dual citizen)

We communicate in person, we haven’t lived apart until this visa process. I assumed sending in proofs of chats were for people in long distance relationship. But now I wish I would have sent in more photos and samples of messages and affidavits from family members that said we were in a true and genuine relationship.

I also wish I would have kept all of our utility bills, but after getting acceptance for PR in Australia, I didn’t think I would be doing this again 1 year later. So besides that random water bill, I only have the bank statements and deed of the house.

KFdancer, another thing I’m concerned about is that I have 2 misdeamers. One from 2006 and another from 2009. I didn’t serve any jail time, so they are considered spent. I provided my court transcripts from the court with the stamp and seal for the one in 2006 since that was in LA county, where I am at the moment. The other was in Las Vegas and short of flying to Vegas to get the signed paper from the court, I went onto the Las Vegas court website and found my case and printed my transcripts from there. Now I’m wondering if I should fly to Vegas and get the signed version and send it to them.

How long have you been married for?  And how long have you been apart for?

You wouldn't have to fly anywhere!  :)  They'll mail you that stuff.  Usually for a small fee.  I wouldn't worry about the Vegas stuff not being original.  If everything else is tight in the application, they will usually let one thing slide.  :)

You said you asked that UKVI exercises discretion and that you asked for the application to be considered under Article 8.  Both of those are outside the rules, which are tough applications to get approved.  I was using your words.  :)
I actually said in my post that we made submissions on the basis of Art 8.  We made a normal application as we satisfy all requirements.  With my husband's previous application they automatically considered Art 8 as there is a British child involved.  So we included Art 8 submissions with this application just in case they refuse.
Date of application:  12 Dec 17
Date of biometrics:  15 Dec 17
Date of receipt of docs:  22 Dec 17
Not straightforward letter/request for docs:  23 Jan 18
Decision made email:  15 Mar 18
Decision:  Approved! 19 Mar 18
