One more question. Is it best to have him contact the MP as I am not there yet? Or can I contact them as well? I don't know how these things work. Thanks!

Depends on the MP.  Several have had no issue assisting the USA citizen.   :D

Does anyone know, if we could ask our MP to deliver a second set of our documents for the new application to the HO, based on the terrible experience in TLS and having being mistakenly refused for the first application?

I feel like there’s sometimes a plus to the American stereotype, we don’t mind as much when it comes to budging MPs when and if needed

We are so nervous/excited that people near our timeline are finally moving along. That makes me hopeful that we will be soon! (I know the timing is a bit arbitrary, but I have to hope for something.)

This process is incredible.

There is a slight possibility that you might be able to upgrade the delivery date to Saturday. This is a premium service though, so you do have to pay for it. No idea what the cost would be, but you can ask UPS on the phone or through online chat if it's possible.

That is what I asked. My husband doesn't think it will do any good to ask. He is also afraid us being persistent will end with getting refused. I look at it like I've dropped a ton of money on two applications and the least I should get is an answer as to the delay. But I suppose that is just me being impatient.

I emailed back and forth with my husband's MP's assistant about 15 times AND my husband did AND he called. He was also worried about being pushy with the MP, but honestly, this is the only person who has direct contact with UKVI and the only person who can apply any pressure (although it's probably the smallest amount of pressure).

We really ramped up our efforts with the MP after UKVI said that they has never received my extra documents that I emailed to them. Our MP finally agreed to call and got the specific date that they marked my documents as received (which was 9 days after I emailed them) and I think it helped apply some pressure.

It sucks. It really really does. I hate that you guys aren't getting any more information, but the persistence should help pay off or at the very minimum get you a little bit more info.

My husband is very resistant to contacting the MP again. He wants to wait until the 60 day mark. He doesn't think the UKVI is going to give anymore info than they have. Which ofc is nothing more than "we got it and are checking on things".
I see it as can't hurting. Yeah the MP may get annoyed, but isn't this part of his job? If it wasn't they wouldn't have their very own bat phone to the home office.
We are both figuring we are headed for refusals, even though we know that isn't for certain. I hate this.

I’d push now.  Just my 2p.

And your actual MP won’t be calling.  He will assign the call to a staff member.   ;)

Be very specific.  That you only want to know *why* your application is not straight forward and what additional documentation they need to assist with that “issue”.
