We’ve now been ‘not straightforward’ longer than anyone took to actually get the decision!! Other than the other 2 in the same boat. I really just don’t get it! 53 days total 37 since ‘not straightforward’ and 18 since being told not straightforward due to ‘additional checks outside the dept’. As I’ve bemoaned before what takes over 7 working weeks to check in 2018?

It sucks. The only good thing is that you will forget really quickly how awful this waiting time has been and pretty soon it'll just be a story to entertain your friends over dinner!  :D

To be honest the waiting is frustrating yes BUT would be more tolerable and understandable if you were told WHY you’re waiting! As if it’s some state secret or matter of national security!!

Completely agree!  :) The truth is, it's probably just sitting on someones desk, waiting for them to pick it back up again. Or pick it up even... I'm still not convinced there is any reason for the not straight forward emails other than to buy time in a disorganised office.

I'm terrified they will refuse me because we forgot the letter from fiancé's property company saying I can live there. He is part owner so it didn't really occur to us until we'd sent the package in.
Would they have asked for it if everything else was fine? Is it grounds enough for a refusal? This process... ugh

Yay!  :)

You'll be fine.  Keep the faith.  Try to distract yourself this weekend.

I'm only 16 days in, and, I've learned to just keep busy with things that will completely take all my focus XD. I've started scrapbooking lol

We actually had an origami thread going for a while, which helped to pass the time and keep thoughts away from visas!  :D

Only just behind you on 53! Just over this whole thing watching others sail past you. :\\\'(

Yup!! it's completely soul destroying... I know we will get an answer EVENTUALLY, as will you and your wife!!
but i am happy to see that others are getting answers so at least it shows that they are working even if it means completely ignoring our applications which have taken twice the amount of time already

I'm almost done with one of the crochet projects I picked up when we started that thread so I was thinking of reviving it!

Fingers crossed! We are on BD 25 and hoping to hear soon. Our biggest fear at the moment is to get a "not straightforward" email and have to wait for another 30 BD.
