Quick one for Ksand24 if you’re around....would the fact i forgot to complete a change of circumstance (marriage) until recently with regards to my SC clearance with National Vetting in any way be a cause for the hold up in our particular case? (Southernbetty appendix armed forces app on Priority BD59)

I am around - just woke up after working a night shift, actually :).

I doubt it will affect anything, but I have no idea to be honest - this is the first question I’ve ever had about SC Clearance in regards to an application.

I’m not sure why UKVI would care about your SC Clearance though, since you are not the one applying for a visa and it is not relevant to the application.

I didn’t think it would either, but am clutching at straws as to the hold up now!

Thanks anyhow

Our son will go to work with my husband or have family minding him before he goes to daycare there. Big reason for going to the UK is family support and they have that. My son's at the age where he needs me less for physical needs so it was good timing to have his dad as primary caregiver. Most of his life I was that parent but this time it worked better the other way around. Practically speaking, I still have a full time job in the US but it's not enough to cover rent, full time daycare, and living expenses. This was the best arrangement for our family, even though it is incredibly hard.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be away from your son after being his primary caregiver. I hope you don’t have to wait any longer than necessary. Good luck!

Feels like they've all gone on holiday! Glad you are getting to see one another, we are considering doing the same.

They need to complete the online application and appendix 2 but there is a lot more to it than just filling out the forms. Perhaps your friend would like to join the forum? :)
