I highlighted each pay entry on my bank statements i supplied for the financial aspect and no questions were asked.

Not sure if I should ask this here, but I saw someone mention on a different thread that we are not meant to deface the bank statement/payslips at all. We highlighted the payments to make it clear the exact amount on the payslip was paid into the bank account. Will this cause problems?...
I did the same thing on mine! Fingers crossed it won't hurt us.  I mean it would be pretty ridiculous if it did.

So we had 2 approvals!!!

Both myself and Southernbetty would like to thank all those who helped us along and through this emotional journey.

Best wishes to all going through the process.....there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

To add we received 4 years and 4 months which is to the day I leave the army! Which in turn means no need to go through this process again!!!  ;D

I hate to break it to you... but there will be two more visas.  You'll need to apply for an FLR(M) before the expiry date of the current visa to take your wife and son up to 5 years residence.  Then at 5 years, they can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

One big thing to be mindful of, is ensuring your son will be able to be included in the future visa applications.  He'll need to remain dependent on you and your wife to be included in the application.  Don't let him grow his wings for five years!  ;)

Ah, I see!   :)

Shame though.  Your wife and son will be SO CLOSE to citizenship.  If you were to move back again later on, you'll have to start all over again.  And your son wouldn't have the option to come then.  Just something to be mindful of.   :)

Just try to keep an open mind, you never know what will happen in the future.  :)

There are a lot of people on the forum who are doing this for the second time around and who deeply regret not getting citizenship earlier, when they had the chance.

That's what a lot of them said at the time but it has cost them way more in the long run.  :)

It is rather pricey, but what if your family loves it here? I think the group is just trying to tell you to keep an open mind :) Every family immigrant in this country has to swallow the expense, but imo it is worth it to be able to live, work and retire in a country you weren't born in and weren't a citizen of. I hope post brexit costs become more manageable but I'm not holding my breath!
