No, it is either from docs received date or Sheffield email. They cannot start reviewing your application until they get your documents.

I don’t know which picture they use, i guess the one at bio appt.

So I just received my visa in the mail today!!

I know everyone has warned against this, but I went ahead and booked my flight back for tomorrow last week after I saw on my UPS tracker that my documents would arrive today. HOWEVER, the documents say I have permission to arrive in the UK starting on April 13.. my flight arrives on the 11th. Are they going to refuse my entry?

I am currently freaking out, and totally knew I should have waited to book my flight, but I just couldn't help myself.

Hey guys, does anyone know about booking a flight with your dog within the US? I'm going to call the airline but usually you all are more accurate than any officials I talk to XD

I'm looking into flying to the east coast to spend a day with my sister before using her as my jump off point to fly to Paris :)
Decision: Approved (04/11/2018)

They will do one of two things:

1.  Refuse entry (actually you could be refused boarding)
2.  Allow entry as a VISITOR and not stamp your visa.  You will then have to make a channel hop and exit the UK and renter the UK to get the vignette stamped.

Can you change the flight and pay the fee?  That’s what I would do.

Congratulations on getting your visa !

Unfortunately, this is the exact reason why we don’t advise booking your flight before you get the visa (and why UKVI don’t advise it either).

You cannot enter the U.K. on your visa until the start date on the vignette... because your visa is not valid until that date.

You could attempt to enter the U.K. as a visitor on the 11th and then leave the U.K. after the 13th and come back in again to get the visa stamped (I.e. go over to France), but it’s still risky as they may not let you in as a visitor.

No I know I completely messed up. I was just so worried about flight prices rising. Do you think if I booked a flight to Ireland for Saturday (only 35 pounds roundtrip) that this would be acceptable? So I could just come in as a visitor til Saturday, and then fly to Ireland and back and get my visa stamped then. I don't know if just being honest to the border officer and explaining my situation and mistake is the best way to go? It's not like I'm going to spend four grand on this visa and then just never get it stamped, ya know?

No, because of the common travel area, that would not work.
It would have to be a trip to France or similar.
But, I'd just change the flight, for peace of mind.
