Priority Spouse Visa FALL Timeline (Oct-Dec)
« Reply #2235 on: April 09, 2018, 08:35:19 PM »
No I know I completely messed up. I was just so worried about flight prices rising. Do you think if I booked a flight to Ireland for Saturday (only 35 pounds roundtrip) that this would be acceptable? So I could just come in as a visitor til Saturday, and then fly to Ireland and back and get my visa stamped then. I don't know if just being honest to the border officer and explaining my situation and mistake is the best way to go? It's not like I'm going to spend four grand on this visa and then just never get it stamped, ya know?

Not through Ireland, unfortunately, because there are no immigration controls between Ireland and the U.K., and so it’s actually illegal for them to stamp your visa!

You could go to any other country except Ireland... France is usually the easiest, because you could just get on the Eurostar train (or a ferry).

You do need to get the stamp because you cannot pick up your BRP without it.

Hey guys, does anyone know about booking a flight with your dog within the US? I'm going to call the airline but usually you all are more accurate than any officials I talk to XD

I'm looking into flying to the east coast to spend a day with my sister before using her as my jump off point to fly to Paris :)

i plan on booking with IcelandAir with my pup to france.  Not sure if you're looking for dog as carry on (must be under 20-22lbs including carrier depending on the airline - if they allow it at all). Mine is going checked baggage, cause with his carrier, he's gonna total around 75lbs.  For IcelandAir from portland oregon to france it's $174.  For them, you book your flight, then call their information line and alert them you're bringing a dog as checked luggage.  I'm not sure when you pay, as i haven't reached that point yet.

separate topic: BD 5, and i'm finding new things to worry about: checking email non-stop, and now i've added checking airline prices.  that's annoying how much they change daily.  just hoping i can find an affordable ticket soon after i get my visa *fingers crossed*

Thanks so much! I too am bringing a dog, checked baggage and her kennel is the max size they allow, so I’m freaking a bit lol but! Thanks I wasn’t sure if I was able to buy my ticket first, I found some super reasonably priced ones with them for next month

I’ve tried to stay busier today and it helped with the email checking. I’ve been watching Priceline’s flights  and my prices are only varying $200 but that’s with their app.
There’s no way I’m booking through my normal airline as they are 2x what I expected lol.  ;D

So far waiting........ my counter is in US timezone so I guess you can add +1 if you're reading from the UK. For some reason adding +1 day makes me feel a little better because it means it's one day closer to reuniting with my husband  ;)

I haven't even looked at flights, but I just realized we now have to pay for our son because he turned 2 last March  :-\\\\ We try to book with British Airways or any SkyTeam member airline because of the mileage points.

I wanted to know how much to expect. First time I looked at one wag tickets I almost passed out.

I haven’t earned enough miles with American yet and I don’t know how because I have a lot lol. I usually go American then British for my visits.

Thinking of doing Virgin Atlantic and British Airways this time. A ton cheaper and one less stop if I fly out of Atlanta.

It’s often cheaper to book a round-trip ticket and then either just not take the return flight or use it to go back to the US for a visit.

Yes, we always book roundtrip tickets because it's crazy weird why one-way tickets are so expensive! You'd think they'd be half the price.

I have looked at that option since we’re coming back for a formal wedding the end of May but I’ve found some Virgin one ways are over half the price of any round trip. Hopefully it stays that way

I actually got a cheaper flight going one way, maybe it's just where I'm flying from but it was a 400.00 price difference

if i wasn’t taking my dog this time, i’d stick with norwegian air. gotta drive to seattle to get one (4 hours away), but worth the savings. around £100 each way for round trip (even buying tickets day of trip on december 23, from uk to seattle round trip for 2 was only about £750).
