Hi all,

My wife's visa arrived much FASTER than we expected. Amazing! I'm sure those of you who have been through the stress and uncertainty will know how happy and relieved we are. Here's hoping for speedy resolution to everyone's applications.

Timeline:
Application submitted online (Spouse Settlement - Priority):  20 March
Biometrics taken: 23 March (San Antonio, TX - drove from our home in Austin so she could get an earlier appointment)
Documents sent via post to Sheffield: 23 March
Documents received via post Sheffield: 26 March
Email saying Docs received at UKVI ("Online application has been received..."): 26 March
Timeline given: 12 weeks (Priority, 30 Business Days)
Decision-Made Email: 3 April
Passport received: 5 April, Visa Approved!

Total waiting time: 12 working days from online application received (9 working days from biometrics taken)

Congratulations :D!

The count actually starts from the date the documents arrived in Sheffield/date of the email (Mar 26th), so actually your visa was issued in just 4 working days (31st Mar and 2nd Apr were Bank Holidays).

Wow that was a super fast approval, congrats! Another March 26 club member. I hope ours is in the works and any time now.  :)

We put May 1 as our intended travel date though so I guess it wouldn't matter even if we got a fast approval. Provided UKVI starts the visa on May 1. It would still be great to hear within the next 2 weeks though, regardless.

So far waiting........ my counter is in US timezone so I guess you can add +1 if you're reading from the UK. For some reason adding +1 day makes me feel a little better because it means it's one day closer to reuniting with my husband  ;)

Not everyone gets the email - sometimes it gets missed accidentally - nothing to worry about.

Your application will likely have been opened and placed in the queue on the day it arrived in Sheffield, or at worst maybe 1-2 days later.

So, as long as you know it was delivered to Sheffield, it WILL be processed.

I had to put Home Office, UKVI as the recipient as there wasn’t enough room to put the full name. It went to Vulcan House, 6 Millsands and signed for.

You’re probably right. I just got my hopes up that I’d receive the email too after seeing nearly everyone before me get the message same day or next day.

if i wasn’t taking my dog this time, i’d stick with norwegian air. gotta drive to seattle to get one (4 hours away), but worth the savings. around £100 each way for round trip (even buying tickets day of trip on december 23, from uk to seattle round trip for 2 was only about £750).

I would have not flown into Paris without the dog hahaha oh how things would be so easy! But I cannot leave my ridiculous pupper.

Though it's 5.00 cheaper to fly her to Paris than to fly her from my home to the east coast. :0

I almost want to turn my email off today  ;D

Yes, hopefully you hear back soon! I believe we listed April 26 as our intended travel date, although having looked at some of the timelines, we thought it might not be issued by then (even booked a refundable one-way on Norwegian in case the date had to be changed). I hope you get news soon.
