I am sorry if I caused you problems with this! I just am flying out from the East Coast (and I am from Texas) and was freaking out myself at the thought if my dog doesn't loose .95lb that I'd be up the creek without a paddle. And I didn't want to see you get everything ready to be denied at the airport!

it's cool. just talked to fiance, and he said he'd love to meet me up in germany, and we could make a mini vacation of it. train back to paris, then meet up a friend to drive us home :)

Congrats on decision made emails and approvals over the past week.

Has anyone got any experience with writing to their MP when things are taking too long? It's been over 40 days for us with no communications that indicated we are not straightforward and given that call centre is utter waste of time I've been contemplating to write to our MP ( or the Queen?) . What's the most effective way of doing this? email? letter? in-person?

You can't do anything until 60 working days have passed anyway, because that's the service standards time that they have to work towards. If they go past 60 working days and haven't sent a non-straightforward email, then they are past their target time and you can complain.

Once you get to 60 working days, you can contact your MP, though writing is unlikely to do anything (it could take weeks to get a response), so the best thing to do is to have your sponsor go and see them in person.

I'm not sure what MPs can do these days though - they used to be able to speak to UKVI directly and pull some strings, but they too seem to be getting the brush off from Sheffield lately.

that's annoying. I guess i'll go back to forgetting about the process for a few more weeks.

In a way it's comforting to know we've ticked off another week and are that much closer to getting some news.  Maybe?

The emails do sometimes come at the weekends... not sure if that's good or bad news for you!  :)
