MY VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED!!!

I hope this news brings many of you peace knowing that there is progress to be made. Even though the road is long and excruciating, you have every reason to be hopeful that your approval will come soon.

All through this experience I have felt more stress and anxiety than I can begin to explain (which I know you all can relate to).  There were many sad days and lonely nights and most of the time I didn't think the process would ever end, but it did and it will for each of you.  Stay persistent, keep your head up and be mindful that even though today you aren't with your partner, you are building a strong foundation.  If you can get through this, you can get through anything!!!

Peace and love to all of you!!  I wish each and every one of you the best of luck on your journey.

So happy for you Anniemal! Very kind words of comfort  :) Glad no hiccups with your UPS delivery too! Safe travels! When are you off?

Well, on my application I set my intended date of travel as May 22 because we both have a trip planned in mid May (mine here in the US, his in Europe).  They approved the visa to begin on May 15th, so I think I will book my flight for the last weekend in May.   :)

They will likely make your vignette valid from June 7th (don't get me on my soapbox about them not following their own rules).  Then it'll be valid for 30 days, so would expire on July 6th or 7th.

Does that mean I won't get the info until June? WTF

I don't care when the vignette is for, I just want more time to get my stuff packed and shipped! Plus I have to put my retirement in (I'm 46- this part is freakin awesome) and get my Winston's Pet Passport going.. bah

You’ll get your visa as soon as the decision is made, but you won’t be able to travel until the date you put on the application form (or from 7 days before that, as they have been putting recently).

If 14th June has passed before the decision has been made, it’ll be valid for 30 days from when the visa is issued (or perhaps from a few days after to give time to receive it).

A few people have ended up flying to the U.K. to pick up their BRP card and then returning to the US for a few weeks to tie up loose ends.

Okay. Thanks. So I can start watching my email again... which there is no email yet.
I even had a dream that it came through. I woke up checked my email and it was just a bunch of Old Navy and CVS type emails.

No email here either. I just need to at least know they’re working on it. My husband even asked me earlier if there was a way to call them. I told him nope. We have to keep waiting. It’s getting to him too.  :-\\\\

If the application is straightforward, they only spend a total of about 2 hours working on it... so unless they need to request further information, it will just be sitting in line waiting to be picked up and no one will work on it at all until the day you get your decision email.
