Yes, unfortunately with extra items that are not needed, it will likely take a bit longer to process than if you had simply submitted the required documentation and nothing extra.  We had someone once submit an application that weighed 11 pounds and they couldn't understand why their application was taking weeks longer to process.   ;)

I’ve seen people say that they sent actual boxes of evidence... plural!

Not sure how long their applications took to be processed, but I feel sorry for the poor ECO who had wade through it all.

As a good indicator, if your package weighs more than about 3lbs and is more than 1-2 inches thick, you have WAY too much stuff in there. The VFS Global shipping labels have a weight limit of 5 lbs, and even that’s pushing it... ideally, it should be about 2-3 lbs.

Yeah! As the applicant, the best idea is to put yourself in the ECO's position, you want to make it as easy as possible for them to tick all the boxes and approve the visa.

Just send exactly what's asked for. More is not more when it comes to visa applications.  :)

We only submitted what our UK immigration lawyer asked of us. Nothing more and nothing less. We have never applied for a visa before, so we put all of our faith and trust into our lawyer who has been doing visas for years. She must have felt the need for the "extra items" ( photos) in our visa process.
All I can do is have faith in the process.

I hope your lawyer was reputable because many lawyers don’t know what they are talking about (not many have experience with applications made outside the UK and most of their experience is usually with complicated cases outside the immigration rules) and there are a lot of people here who have found this forum after being given bad and incorrect advice by lawyers.

To be honest the fact that the lawyer advised you to send 150 photos instead of the 1 photo that is required (2 at most) is ringing alarm bells for me. It used to be that no photos were required at all for a spousal visa and just 1 photo was required for a fiancé visa, but then UKVI started requiring the same relationship evidence for both visas (1 photo and evidence of regular communication). Most people like to send 2 photos - one recent and one from earlier in the relationship.

Personally I dnt think sending to many photos is an issue, surely they will just flick through them an then focuss on the paper work. I read we had to send a few from each trip, that his how we ended up with 35, we could have sent a lot more, it was hard to decide! Xx

A UK visa is a tick box visa.  Tick the boxes, get the visa.  You don't get a bigger or better tick for supplying more than what's required.

So, no, it won't negatively impact the appplication as the tick is still received.  It can just slow things down.

People often think if they make in excess of £18,600 it makes their application better.  It doesn't.  You get the same tick if you make £18,600 or if you have millions in the bank.   :)

Nope, completely unnecessary - your boarding passes/tickets show you went on the trip, not the photos.

The ONLY reason a photo is needed is to prove you have met in person, because it’s a requirement to have met in person at least once.

I suppose if the photos are in a folder or something, they could just put it to one side, but if they are loose (which your documents should be, as using folders is not recommended), then they could obstruct the important documents and something might get overlooked.

Awesome stuff - Congratulations & Happy Birthday to you!  :)

As for the number of images being sent, 150 is well over the top. I gave in around 10+ pictures. You don't want to overload the ECO with images, takes them longer to get to the actual documents.

Apparently if you have in excess of a million in the bank you don’t need to do the visa exercise, hearsay though!

Not true!  :). And how would they know that you have a million pounds unless you submit proof? No, you need a visa.  ;D
