As much as I would LOVE that, I’m afraid it’s highly unlikely for it to be so. Alas, Thursday is BD 14 from date UKVI sent email confirming receipt of application  :\\\'( Why it took them so long, I’ll never know!

This may sound weird but I do wonder if the reason for the delay was your package was delivered via DHL instead of UPS.  Maybe the DHL stuff only gets logged in on an ad-hoc basis?  That's the only explanation I can think of.

I wondered the same thing. I noticed nearly everyone who bought the VFS packaging received the email the same day (or at most, a couple days after) their package arrived in Sheffield. Maybe it’s worth paying that little bit more if that is the case.

That's an interesting point. Possibly. In which case we should recommend people to go with VFS global right.

I was wondering do you guys count down the BD from the date the biometrics were taken or from the date Sheffield sends an email saying the application has been received?

Also I'm guessing the BD count is Monday to Friday of each week

For applications made in the US, we go by the date Sheffield receives the application... because they can't start the processing time until they actually have something to process.

If we counted from biometrics, it could be several days before Sheffield receives your documents, and therefore those days won't count towards the processing time, because they can't start processing documents that you haven't sent to them yet.

The BD count is Monday to Friday, but bear in mind that this coming Monday, 7th May is a bank holiday and so is Monday May 28th, so those 2 days won't count as BD.

We got our decision has been made email!! It arrived this morning just before we went to work so we were together which was amazing. We had a feeling that we would hear something if my wife flew out here as the same thing had happened to so many people on this thread.

BD 56 - now the extra wait for the passport. My wife will be flying back to the UK on Sunday night so sadly we won't be able to open the package together. Has anyone ever managed to get the package earlier by going to the depot? It would be amazing if we try and pick it up directly on the weekend if it has arrived in New York but not sure if this is possible.

We are just going to celebrate having an answer, being together and being able to move forward with our lives whatever the outcome may be but of course nervous now to discover our fate.
