Because of us, your HUSBAND met you at the airport.  We'll always take credit for that!   ;D

Ah, yes of course! Haha

Arrived in our empty flat. No furniture except a mattress on the floor, a computer desk since my husband works from home, and a tv also propped on the floor (how do men live this way?? Lol) But i’m so happy we’re reunited! Now to the fun part begins!

We have furniture but I don’t think my husband had cleaned the house since Christmas lol. Spent two hours cleaning just the kitchen! And it was the best ever. So happy to be home and glad you made it home too  ;D

Nothing at all lol! We sold all our stuff in the States before he left in January. His first temporary rental was fully furnished then he just moved in to our new flat 2 weeks ago.

Okay, that makes me feel better.  I was thinking he had been there for months just sitting in a desk chair.   ;D

Aw makes me feel all warm inside seeing all the approvals for people and the gratitude for the people that helped us get there. You guys rock!

Congrats Meg!

I'm just waiting for my wife to come over to collect her BRP! The letter said it's going to be at the post office on the 22nd May and her window is 14th may to 15th June.

Welcome and good luck!  Just moved my dogs over so if you need a recommendation, let me know.

@hkcarter thank you and yes I will take all the help I can get regarding pet relocation. I've moved onto the ToR now and trying to figure out if I need all my receipts now or if they really only matter upon arrival.  Not needing them for the initial email application for ToR would be super helpful.

I had spoken to a local company that is a full service pet relocation service and they had quoted me $3000 for relocation of our two cats.  I was hoping to save some money by managing it myself but again, I'm fearful of messing up the poor cats being stuck in quarantine (plus the huge fees associated).

Feel free to private message me if you think this thread is the wrong place for a reply.  Thank you!

i'm doing my dog on my own. the vet visit to fill out the health certificate is $99, then (i think) $36 to get it certified (i need to check the website again). i haven't had a price quote on deworming yet. we are flying into france on iceland air, which is $174 for the dog, then taking a pet taxi into the uk for $550 + $79 for the tunnel ticket.

better to go into france than direct to the uk.

Safe travels! Are you in NYS? Factor in overnight mail 2 ways for the certificate if you're not somewhere you can get it done in person. With dogs they also need the worming 3 days before travel.

(correction from earlier, its $38 for certification). the nearest certification office is in washington (i'm in oregon). so i'm taking finnick to the vet to fill out the certificate this friday 18th, shipping the form for certification, then deworming next friday. we fly out sunday the 27th from portland, oregon; land on the 28th in paris france :)

I am crying while I type this and you all are the first to know (other than my 10 year old who watched me open my return package): I am APPROVED! I haven't even told me husband yet!

I was convinced I had lost $4k and tons of time.

Thank you to @larabee, @KFdancer and @masonjohnsmum for keeping the faith when I had none.  1 week processing time!! That is only because I went total type A on my application and followed all of your advice to the T.  I am so incredibly grateful.  Thank you thank you thank you!

It's completely luck when you're a unicorn and processed quickly, but congrats!! I'm so glad you had your answer quickly and it's an approval. Happy homecoming :)
