Is it a fair assumption that if I don’t have an email by 5pm I’m time I probably won’t for the day?

To save your sanity, assume that nothing by 5pm BST, means you won’t hear that day.  If a unicorn that gets an email out of hours, have it be a pleasant surprise.

Hi everyone! I’m new to this.. I’ve read a number of forums whilst making and waiting for the visa, but then thought I’d join in and contribute. Me and my partner have applied for a fiancée visa for the UK, priority. I am in the UK (British) and my partner is not from the US, she’s from (and in) Singapore, but I can’t seem to find another forum as active and informative as this one. I hope it’s alright that I’ve joined here, even through neither of us is from the US.

My partner submitted her biometrics on the 23rd of April, and the docs arrived at UKVI on the 2nd May. We had the ‘application being processed’ email on the 13th of May. I’ve already been sent the originals of our documents back.

I called UKVI today who confirmed it’s over 30 working days (we paid for priority) and so she said she will escalate it. I’m hoping they’re just busy, and that this escalation might prompt someone to look at it, rather than that there’s a problem that’s holding it up. But as I can gather from posts, it’s all a bit of a mystery until there’s a decision has been made email.

I meet the financial requirements and we used a lawyer to check all our docs and give us advice on what to include, so I think we did our best.

Hoping for the best and looking forward to getting to know you all!

Thanks! Hoping we’ll get an update soon. Does anyone have any experience with escalation just after the 30 business day mark?

An escalation likely means nothing if you called the paid hotline... Unfortunately that staff can't really do anything and often will say anything to make you happy. If it hits 60 business days I'd get your MP involved but you should hear before then. :)

Yay!! Which part of the UK will you be in? There are quite a few in the reading/Thames Valley area. :)
