Thanks a lot for the quick response. Yes, it just said that it processes your application ahead of other applicants. I am pretty sure that non-priority will hear a decision 3-4 weeks after the priority. assuming both applied in June/July

I'm afraid not.  All priority buys you is a spot in front of the non-priority applications.  If there is something missing from your application or it's deemed not-straight-forward, all bets are off, I'm afraid.

And it's been a LONG time since we've seen a non-priority application processed in less than 60 days!

Last year, at the peak of summer, priority stretched to 9 weeks and non-priority stretched to close to six months!  Definitely worth the price of priority.

Non-priority is almost always twice as long a wait as priority.

BD 56 for my wife and adopted son's application. I have receieved the 'non-straight forward' email though, last week. Also, an email requesting payment for the IHS fee for my son. I'm convinced they are waiting until airfare is prohibitively expensive for me to fly my family over.

Yes, I did! I wanted to have my kids in school before September 3rd, when it starts so we paid for the priority. I strongly feel I'm due a refund here though. They didn't move on my application until I paid and sent an email; seriously who charges for an email?

I monitor various forums and it feels like Sheffield was closed for a holiday all last week. I don't mind, as long as they make my decision next week! Or in two weeks as long as it gets approved!!!!

The previous week I observed a couple of cases in which priority apps from the US were taking about 10 bd more than the expected 30bd, but this is not necessarily representative. With the 60bd case above, one can't help but suspect that Sheffield lost track of the fact that it was priority, a mistake that does happen sometimes.

Our own timeline is summarised below in my signature, with full details earlier in this thread.  :|

Good luck, everybody.
Country: USA (Seattle)
Visa: Settlement - Spouse (Wife)
Priority: Yes
Visa office: Sheffield, UK

Biometrics (USCIS Seattle): 15 Jun 18
Documents at Sheffield (ParcelForce): 20 June 2018
Email "prepared for consideration by ECO": 27 Jun 18
Email "did not include airway bill": 27 Jun 18
Call to escalate after 30bd: twice, no reply

Email "decision made": 3 Sep
Documents returned (to UK): 5 Sep
Passport received (UPS): 5 Sep

(48th bd from "application being prep'd for ECO" email.)

Visa valid from: 10 Sep
BRP pickup from: 17 Sep

It certainly seems that they lost track of it. Considerning that once I emailed the UKVI line, all of a sudden I got the 'non-straight forward' application email followed directly by a request for payment on the IHS fee. I really need to find out within the next week for sure, as the tickets don't come back down until September 10th!

Hey we are on 35BD now. I got in contact with my local MP and got a message the next day saying the application was not straightforward. They said we need to send my May bank statement to show that the May payslip had entered the account as we had not proven this in our documents. We did, in fact, send this the first time, so it all seems a little odd. I am going to scan over what they asked for again on Monday. Hopefully, we all get those Yes decisions through soon.

I contacted the MP same day as the email. Just received a letter in the mail today saying that he’s contacted UKVI and will update us when they receive a response.

Nope. I paid priority and got my email 20 June. Nothing else yet. Seems like a lot of us are in the same boat, so hoping for a "flurry" as they call it, and a lot of us get our e-mails at the same time.

I am on BD 32. Seems like it's taking between 30-39 for June apps, so hoping next week.

Good luck to everyone
