Now you've got the email, try to relax a bit.  :) The others are right, the longer the wait goes on, the more anxious you will become so at least for the first few weeks, try not to think about it because it's only sitting somewhere in a pile, doing nothing all that time!

Good advice! I'll do my best to stay distracted. I've got a storage room that needs sorting so I can figure out what comes with me to England and what doesn't. That should keep me busy for weeks so it's perfect!  [smiley=laugh4.gif]

Packing kept me positive. At first I was unsure if I even wanted to pack because "what if it's refused" kept lingering in my head. But it wasn't! And now I'm all packed (Well, mostly!) You'll realize how many roots you have once you have to unroot yourself. As for me, I grew up here so I have 26 years of roots to cut! It's so much!

You don't have to cut them, just prune them back a bit!  :)

That is a good point...! Even trimming so many is hard!

I moved to Miami from Los Angeles about 2 years ago. I had a four bedroom house in LA that I lived in for 7 years and had been in LA for a total of 18 years. So I had tons of stuff and it was so hard when I had to move to Miami. But I feel like this is even harder because it's a move overseas and I don't want to bring unnecessary things but at the same time, I don't want to get rid of my good things that took me time and money to purchase and are still in great condition. So I'm sifting through and trying to be sensible. It's not easy though. But we'll get there!

Yes! Moving anywhere is hard.....overseas? Seems impossible!! I am leaving behind 8 boxes of stuff I can't get rid of but also can't bring with me.

Hi everyone!

Woke up to an email this morning that my application has been received and is being prepared for consideration by and Entry Clearance Officer. Yay! Now I'm just in prayer mode and sending out all kind of good, positive vibes even though last night I felt like I was gonna throw up just thinking about all of this stuff. Anyway, here's my timeline thus far...

Plot twist!

I'm very, very confused. I'm doing the Gold / Premium Priority service, and I just received an email from the NYC Visa processing center that says they received my application. But Sheffield says they received it on July 27? What is going on??

Yes! Moving anywhere is hard.....overseas? Seems impossible!! I am leaving behind 8 boxes of stuff I can't get rid of but also can't bring with me.

I'm basically dividing my things into three sections - stuff to donate, stuff to sell, and stuff to keep. Once I get rid of all the things I know I want to get rid of, then I'll go through the keep stuff again and see if I can narrow down anything else. I'm trying to
get down to needing only the smallest storage room available for the things I want to keep but can't take. Sigh... It's just overwhelmingly daunting but I know I'll get through it. It's all worth it in the end, isn't it?!

I am having a garage sale Saturday. Got 8 boxes of stuff to "keep" but leave behind, and then 2 bags to check in and 1 carry on + purse...I'm gonna be a walking mess lol!

Woo hoo! Well, we've got each other's hand to hold as we go through this process. It feels a bit better having someone to go through it with. Let's help keep each other sane!

In what part of the UK will you be living?  :)

Ignore it.  This happens every now and then.  It's just a glitch in the system.

I know it's easy for me to say ignore it and not to worry, but we see this 3/4 times a year.  It just happens.  No rhyme or reason.
