Always a possibility, but our lawyer never received any either.

I wish there were some way to see how many applications there are before a particular one. Would be nice to be able to follow the application through the process.

I agree, anything to give some sort of an idea that progress is being made would be wonderful!  :)

Grats!!! How many business days was it between your package arriving at Sheffield and the decision being made?
Country: USA (Seattle)
Visa: Settlement - Spouse (Wife)
Priority: Yes
Visa office: Sheffield, UK

Biometrics (USCIS Seattle): 15 Jun 18
Documents at Sheffield (ParcelForce): 20 June 2018
Email "prepared for consideration by ECO": 27 Jun 18
Email "did not include airway bill": 27 Jun 18
Call to escalate after 30bd: twice, no reply

Email "decision made": 3 Sep
Documents returned (to UK): 5 Sep
Passport received (UPS): 5 Sep

(48th bd from "application being prep'd for ECO" email.)

Visa valid from: 10 Sep
BRP pickup from: 17 Sep

I wish. It doesn't seem to be a simple queue system. I assume that either there are multiple queues (pot luck) or applications can get held up at certain stages -- or both.

I'm seeing applications that were 3 weeks later than ours getting approved while we're still waiting.

Also, I've seen folks actually receive their visa in 24-26 working days this week, when we're at 38 bd and still counting.

I haven't seen any refusals yet. But I'm so anxious I can hardly function. It feels like something has gone wrong for our application. Others are being approved way ahead of ours now. I've escalated twice now 15 days apart and still had no answer, while others have had prompt responses to their escalations.

Evidently there is something different about my application and something gone wrong.

Hello everyone,
A little update... my husband got the "Decision made" email this morning!

I'm the person who was (incorrectly) advised by immigration consultants that the application would take 2-3 weeks. In the end, it seems like it has taken 28 Business Days to get to this point...which, all things considered, doesn't seem at all bad.

I'm assuming 'decision made' usually means approved...?! If so, will let you all know once it has been dispatched and is in hand etc.

I reluctantly left the US last week and am setting up our home in Scotland. I had anticipated at least another 2 weeks on my own, but I'm now hopeful that my husband and our 2 year old will be here sooner...

Yeah, that's a fairly quick result, that's great!  :)

The decision made email usually means approved because the vast majority of US applicants (95%plus)  are approved. Other than that, it's not an indicator of the result.

There is no rhyme or reason, and it seems they sometimes process some apps quickly to improve the published statistics. The call line escalations genuinely mean nothing, they tell you what you want to hear but have no power to do anything. I would try to be patient, as hard as it is, and possibly reach out to your MP if you hit 60 days with no decision.

Did you use the VFS shipping labels? You can sign up for tracking updates on those from the UPS website. Recently another member had theirs start moving without receiving the decision made email. The process at Sheffield is far from perfect and not transparent at all.
