According to UPS, my passport will be arriving TOMORROW!

Good luck!  :)

Hope it arrives really, really early, like first thing for you - that way, you don't have to endure the agony of sitting in waiting for it all day.  :)

Yay! I loved watching it on the UPS live thing. I was so excited and waiting at the door of my Mom's apartment building when the UPS guy pulled up.

Have we had any other approvals this week?

They say the wait time is 2-days in October... we’re almost there, shouldn’t it speed up now?

I just nearly had heart failure...

I get those emails from UPS any time they're going to deliver something. And in the email title line it says:

UPS Update: Package Scheduled for Delivery Tomorrow.

Well, I completely forgot I ordered something from Bath and Body Works. My wishful thinking just got the best of me.  [smiley=oops.gif]

I was hoping I was a unicorn and magically getting my visa in 11 BD.  [smiley=laugh4.gif]

Le sigh...  [smiley=disappointed.gif]

That hasn’t been the case for a few years now.

Neither have I. It’s been frustratingly quite. Got an email on Monday saying the IHS payment was received (one month later?), but nothing. I thought for sure it was going to be this week. If not my wife has to enroll my kids in school in Georgia; I’m so over this BS. I’m British, my kids are British, I earn over double the average UK wage, and my American wife isn’t allowed over.. the UK has took a huge knock in my book over this mess.

I haven’t heard anything either even though I know my application will take longer for a decision. I live in Georgia as well and I’m thinking about getting a second passport downtown so that I can spend time with my daughter in Paris for a couple of weeks if her mother agrees.

This entire visa process is taking so long sometimes I even forget that I applied for it  ;D

I wouldn’t be so bitter and angry about it, but they are delaying people’s lives on purpose. The rules are such that we couldn’t apply to come together, we HAD to be separated to make it work. Otherwise we would have applied a year ago and wouldn’t bother about the wait. Unfortunately, they’re written in such a way to discourage people attempting this, purposely making it difficult. There is no other plausible explanation.

My kids don’t deserve to be in limbo because I want to exercise the right to live in my country with my family. It’s not right and doesn’t need to happen.

I just thought of something, when sending for my passport after we get married in October, how is the best way to send it, regular mail? UPS?..I cant send it till October 29th and want it back as fast as I can. I just saw something regarding the UPS is out for tomorrow. Also... when you say the wait period for October is 2 days, are you talking like 2 days  ;) .. is that for Spousal approval or something else. ???

You send your passport with your supporting documents to Sheffield, usually via UPS (or FedEx/DHL) and you won't have it back until a decision has been made on your visa.

I just looked at the thread from last year. This thread, it appears the approval times for spousal visas were within a week.

If your sending your passport to UKVI, create a ups account and send it that way with a pre-printed and paid for return label.

I think there were a few unicorns but in general priority has been 20-30bd since early 2017, with longer waits in summer and at the Xmas rush. Sometimes they process a few apps very quickly to skew their published statistics!
