APPROVED

Visa received on 48th business day from "application being prep'd for ECO" email.

Visa valid from: 10 Sep
BRP pickup from: 17 Sep

She flies home on 17 Sep. Thank goodness. What an ordeal.

Thanks to everyone for your support and advice, especially those on a similar timeline who posted their info and the handful of veteran regulars -- it helped a lot.

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations :D!

Hi there,

So my wife just picked up her parcel from Sheffield and we got approved. However, a small problem. Her vignette starts on 08/09/18. We had requested for this to be 15/09/18. Don't know why UKVI gave 08/09, but this wouldn't usually be a problem. Except, I booked my tickets to go out and see her. anticipating a response by October. So this has worked out too well for us. I booked my tickets from 03/10 - 12/10. Obviously , this won't be possible if my wife needs to be here by 08/10. What are our options? She does not want to send the passport back to re do the vignette dates or transfer. Realistic option looks like I won't be going over ! I can not changed my flights a booking conditions are strict.

My wife is concerned that something might happen if she sends her passport back. I don't see a reason as to why we shouldn't just apply for a transfer of conditions. Would you be able to tell me the process of this?

This grates on my nerves, but they've been making the vignette for 7 days earlier than requested for over a year.

Yeah, she needs to travel to the UK by the 8th of October at the latest.  It's expensive and no time guarantee to change the dates on the vignette.

Can you change your flight and fly back with her?  Then you can help her make the move over?  Also remember, you need to be present either with her or already in the UK for her to enter on her vignette.

Okay, guess the only feasible option is to take the hit and cancel the trip. It is what it is, but glad that we're approved !! Aaaaah thank you so much everyone for your help. This has been a hell of a journey and a bit anti climatic lol !

Did you try asking the airline anyway? Explain to them what has happened. You never know what they may be able to arrange. It's worth a try. The worst thing that can happen is they say NO. Maybe it'll work out in your favor.

Curious if there's a pattern or if it's random... What time of day and day of the week did you all receive your decision made email? If you can recall... I just want to know when I should and shouldn't be bothered with stressing. Ha ha!

It really does vary.  It can come anytime.

If you want to save yourself a lot of hassle, just check your UPS tracking at 7pm UK time every day.  If no movement, wait until the next day.  ;D

Thank you! I guess I was just wondering if it'll be more like I wake up to the decision made email. I'm just hoping that I'm not too far behind @mk191192 as we both received our application prepared by ECO email on the same day which was 15 Aug.

So, I finally got a response from my MP, only took 6 weeks. Apparently, they didn't have my application listed as 'Priority'. Despite having the receipts in the package and the envelop basically covered in PRIORITY SERVICE on all sides.

I've forwarded the receipts again to UKVI and thanked the MP. How can I get my money back?
Application: 30/4
Bio Metrics: 7/5
Received in Sheffield Email: 16/5
Request for IHS Fee: 27/7
Decision Made: .....

Use the written information the MP received and contact the financial ombudsman.
