Great news though! Ridiculous wait for a 'priority' visa but you'll forget all about it if the news is positive. Good luck!
It better be positive. I have no idea what we’re going to do if it isn’t.

It's probably academic at this stage, but I'm very interested to know if payslips for the past 6 months and letter of employment stating the annual income are sufficient as evidence of meeting the financial requirement? OR are bank statements MANDATORY to be submitted as evidence. I remember in the VAF 4A Appendix form there were several ways of showing that an applicant met the requirement.

The letter that I had got from UKVI asking for addition documents i.e. bank statements stated "provide personal bank statements corresponding to the same periods as the payslips you provided, showing that the salary has been paid an account in the name of that person".

The payslips have the name, address and the national insurance number. Isn't that sufficient to validate/confirm the identity of the person?

I'm just curious to know. It would be great to know the opinion of other members and experts and also might be of value to future applicants! Thanks in advance.  :)

The bank statements are mandatory. FM-SE elaborates on what needs to be sent.

Bank statements are 100% required and we've seen many applications refused for not including them.

As has been said, bank statements are absolutely mandatory.

The reason you have to include them is because you must prove that the exact payslip amounts were deposited into a valid bank account in the sponsor’s name.

So, they have to go through each bank statement and confirm the date of the deposit and make sure that the amount deposited in the account matches the payslip exactly.

Someone was refused a few months ago because their bank statement showed a deposit that was just a few pence different than on their payslip. Someone else was refused because the bank statements showed a different deposit date to the payslips, and they/their employer had not included an explanation for why it was different.

Hi everyone...

I'm 17 BD in. Had my hopes up high this week as one with a very similar timeline got approved. I hate to sound super spoiled which I know I probably do... as I know some of you have been waiting far longer than me already, for what seems like an eternity... but I'm kind of bummed seeing as it's the end of Friday and I've gotten nothing. My long distance relationship has been very challenging over the last couple of years. And I just want to be there already to take the pressure of this distance off. Morale is a bit low on both sides.

I wish I could understand the way this all works with the UKVI and their order/method of actually doing things but trying to understand it would be an exercise in futility. So I'm trying not to ask why. That being said, I know the reality is that I'm only 17 BD in and it may likely be another 17 BD before I hear a thing. I'm just scared. And nervous. And feel like I could throw up. What if it is another 40 BD? Or it could be next week? Or maybe it will be refusal? I hate feeling this way. I've never done well with the unknown.

Sorry, I just needed to vent because I'm sad and I miss my husband and stepdaughter. I don't really have anyone else to talk to about it all. And I know you all understand. You're the only ones who do.

Hugs to everyone else going through it too!

Aw hugs!! I hope yours comes soon! The long distance really does put a strain on the morale of the relationship. It’s hard when both of you just want to be together and you don’t know when you will be home. the unknown is the worst. Be strong! I hope it goes quickly and you can get home to your family!

Try and get out there and make the most of your remaining time, turn it into a positive if you can. :). Eat all the food, drink all the drinks, go to all the places that you'll miss and visit all your favourite people!  Your visa will be here before you know it and then your feet won't touch the ground!  :)

Thank you so much for the encouragement, Mecoward. Really need it today. <3

Thanks! That's what I'm trying to do. Just prepare for my departure. Getting rid of things I no longer need and eating good BBQ!! LOL!  :)

Dear MrsMagpie, I wish you the very best and hope that you and the many others waiting in this process, receive a positive outcome soon and get reunited with their loved ones.

If its any consolation (of sorts), your situation seems to be much better than mine. After waiting for waiting for about 40BD, I'm staring down the barrel of a possible refusal because I was misinformed and didn't include a vital piece of evidence such as my bank statements in the initial documents that I sent. UKVI were considerate enough to ask for it but given that my better half mailed it (albeit via next day delivery) to Sheffield on 22 August and they made a decision on 24th August (within 2 days) makes my pessimistic mind suspect they could have done it without receiving the bank statement and taking them into consideration -> which is very worrying.

Knowing how documents tend to pile up for weeks at Sheffield, it would be an absolute miracle if someone at UKVI actually opened the parcel containing the bank statements immediately upon receipt and forwarded it to the respective ECO who had requested it, within those 2 days in order for him/her to take it into consideration.

My UPS parcel is currently en route and I will know the decision on Monday. So it's gonna be some sleepless nights for me! If God forbid, its a negative outcome I would be livid at myself.

I wish I had found out about this forum before applying. It's so informative and helpful.

Oh dear. I can understand why you're so worried. I'm sure this weekend will be somewhat torturous. I'm sending so much positive energy for you that you're going to be approved and all your worries and fear will be done with.

It really is an arduous and brutal process. And you're right about this forum - a total lifesaver!! I didn't even know where to begin and thank you Google for sending me to this website!

Anyways, thanks so much for the encouragement. Best of luck to you!

I think it's likely that they did receive the bank statements before making the decision. And they would only bother asking for them in the first place if they were satisfied with everything else. So if the bank statements you sent were satisfactory, the most likely outcome would be a successful one.

The package is due to our house in Florida on Monday. However, my wife told the renters to ignore it so she could redirect it to Georgia. This doesn’t seem wise to me, but I’m not going to mess with her after waiting so long. Not to mention I don’t know if I can go any longer not knowing!!
