The vignette is the sticker in your passport.

If it’s a fiancé visa approval, all you will get is the 6-month sticker and no letter

If it’s a spousal visa approval, you will get the 30-day sticker and a letter explaining how and when to pick up your BRP

If it’s a refusal, you’ll get no sticker and a refusal letter

Waiting patiently for the UPS van.

What is the first thing I should do after receiving the parcel to check for approval - the obvious thing would be to search through the various pages of the passport for the visa! Is there anything quicker like a letter saying I've been approval? I heard something about a vignette with the start of the visa valid date.

Anyone willing to share their experiences of opening the parcel and what they did first?  ;D

I sent my documents in plastic sleeves and when I received my package, the passport was in the first sleeve and opened to my vignette so I knew right away. But it depends on the ECO and how they package it. I think the letter is often on top :)

I have been APPROVED!!! Woooooooooohoooooooooo!!! Can't contain my excitement. A happy ending to such a long and emotional journey.  ;D

A huge thanks to everyone who supported me in the forum - KFdancer, Mecoward, Ksand24, Larrabee, MrsMagpie, Stamar2018 and well as all the other members. Your words of encouragement gave me so much moral support during this difficult time.  :)

Congratulations sbdavi and best wishes to MrsMagpie. Your moment of joy will come, hopefully, sooner than you think. Hang in there for now. Btw, believe me, waiting for the UPS parcel to arrive is by far the worst part. But when you have the passport in your hand and look at the vignette with your name and pic in it, everything seems worth it. Weird but true.  ;)

I am also very grateful to the ECO at UKVI who kindly gave me chance to submit the missing evidence rather than refusing my application straightaway.  :)

I am so happy right now! Above all, thank you God Almighty for this wonderful blessing.

Thanks everyone. You’ve been extremely comforting and compassionate with my ranting. I REALLY need the refund. But have absolutely no idea how to pursue it.

Oh thank goodness you have your approval! Good luck with the priority refund. It may not be fast, but it will be worth pursuing!
