Hi everyone!

I went MIA for a bit because we had a hold up with our application.  My fiancé is the owner & director of his company which stuck us in that oh so fun Self-Employed category.

UKVI did accept our online bank statements.  We didn't get them verified or stamped (because it was 3 reams of paper!!!) but they did have the bank logo and looked just like the ones from the bank.  Strangest thing was when they asked for an updated CT600, they said to make sure we emailed over the correct financial year bank accounts if we didn't already mail them in with the application .....in which UKVI contradict themselves because you obviously can't send the original statements via email haha

We did use the hotline once and I did receive an email back from UKVI 10 days later saying they received my call.

 Anyways, I RECEIVED MY VISA AT 10 AM TODAY!!! Got a 4pm flight tomorrow, so so so so so excited! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Congratulations!  Especially for navigating the self-employed category successfuly!  It can be done, it's just a lot more documentation (as you've just experienced).  Well done!  Safe travels tomorrow!

Thank you! Thanks so much for you help and your encouragement along the way. I don't know what I would of done without this forum!! Thanks to everyone else who helped me with the application and just for chatting with me to get through this! You know who you are! It truely meant a lot!

Flights :)...  Depending on prices, I might look to meet up with my hubby somewhere else this weekend and then go there together on Monday to enter with my visa. I know that sounds crazy but we've waited long enough! Otherwise, I will definitely try to fly by next Friday!  The hubs has to work during the week so I want to come over there on a weekend. So TBD!!

I've lost count over the years the number of people who say "I got my visa.  Flying tonight!"  Nothing wrong with getting on with it!  ;D

Congratulations.  And yes, it's always been the way that when they request additional documentation that they are happy with scanned copies.  :)

And take a cart - whether you need it or not.  Enjoy that it rolls forwards and backwards with ease and doesn't try to dart of sideways making you walk funny and hurt your hip.  ;D

I didn't check in after our decision made email, but it was a decision to grant us a visa!!!!

The vingette is valid on 25 Oct, which is my own gd fault for not understanding the "intended date of travel" question and not understanding a whole lot of other things before I sent off the app and found this forum. But still so so happy to know what's going on and have a date!
