Big hugs.

Here’s where I think a huge part of the problem lies:  they are now having us send everything to a third party scanning hub in NYC. They are likely sending EVERYTHING.   And a lot of people send everything plus the kitchen sink.  So until they solve that - timelines will likely be slow.

Your visa WILL be processed and you WILL get your visas.  Just keep up that mantra.
I will try, I know it will get done but when and will I get that dreaded message (praying for positive vibes).

My package hasn't even made it yet to the pile because of this storm and ups is like, it's in New Jersey but they dont know when it will get to NYC.

Plus everybody sending originals and copy it's like double the fun. I wouldn't want to be the person scanning all these documents, but I thought  there would have been some structure to the madness and nobody to speak too (it's just crazy)

I’m only sending originals of letters and bank statements - some are A4 so I just slipped a US size copy behind the original. Since I have to cover 18 years that we’ve been married, there’s too much paper as it is. I wanted to keep the package as uniform and compact as possible.
Did anyone ever figure out if we need to include those bar coded separators?

I’m not sending two sets. Basically I’m only sending originals that are US letter size. All other docs will be copies in US letter size. I am including one A4 original letter to show wet signature and Barclays Bank statements - I’m putting US letter size copies behind those originals all in one stack.

For all the reasons discussed in this thread and in light of the letter being given at biometrics specifically asking for copies, I figured I’d do it this way so that all the scanner has to do is pull out the A4 originals - which conveniently stick out of the top for easy access - and scan to their heart’s content! No shuffling of papers required!

Try to do one stack and not 2. Also make sure you have a copy of everything you sent ,just in case something gets lost you will have it. We have to keep our own evidence for this crazy process. I have everything in email so I can quickly upload, if I ever get a request. Try sending them everything on the same size document (I just thought about it, as what will make the scanners life the easiest). So just do A4 or just do US size. Both is acceptable and will be scanned.

Ok, so like his employment letter, landlord letter...things like that (things on the A4 and original)... are you just sending the originals and not an extra copy of them..
Then things such as messages, passport page, and relationship photo copy's, things that will be on US size , just one set all put together in order of course.  :)

I didn't send originals, I followed the instructions and sent photocopies. I also printed the dividers on the vfs site. I placed everything in order and then I used 2 thick rubberband. It's basically ready to scan

I think vfs is having a hard time with originals as every country state etc uses a different size paper for marriage certificates or birth certificate etc. So they requested copies. I sent photocopies of all my documents (I did do colored copies and made sure everything was legible-very important)
I still have the originals.

When you go to your biometrics, you will get a sheet and says you should follow those instructions. I just decided to follow them.

You also have the option to upload the documents yourself (maybe you can try this..I wish I did) maybe it will start working soon.

Yes it is confusing, if I was sending to Sheffield I would have sent originals and copies for the items I wanted to be returned.

Our documents are now being scanned (so whatever is uploaded will not be original) and even if something is missing, Sheffield seems to be contacting individuals to resend. Do what you feel is best for you, I did that for myself (whatever you do make a copy for yourself)

I think I did my copies in color when I made them, will get it all together tomorrow... Yeah, if that's the newest instructions, I would hope that's the best way.. I have everything scanned to my computer as well as an extra set of copies in my desk  ::)
I'll see what it says about downloading...if it works by then, cant see the harm..  :)
