I have this same dilemma, too much clothes and I have already started the purge. Still too much and these airlines only give 1 suitcase. and I'm going with kids (so much clothes). I also started to buy warm clothes on the sales here (I have new clothes and old clothes)

I will be in Glasgow for a few months but we're going to try to settle in Manchester. His work has an office there and he's able to transfer at any time. We plan to move there to give us some distance from his parents. They don't approve of me or our marriage and have made it well known, so we just want a chance to start fresh. But will definitely be in Glasgow for awhile... Our big wedding is in Edinburgh on March 30th!
Good plan to move away. That can really cause strain on a relationship. They will come around or maybe not but you just have to live your life for you.

That makes it difficult.. I’ve given away lots and tossed lots and packed and still have a full closet... hmm does that make me a hoarder haha. I have more cold weather clothes than warm thank goodness so trying to now figure what cute boots to take, ughh the horror , I may pack a couple pair and have my daughter mail them one day.  Trying to figure which are the bulkiest and wear them on the trip. I used a couple of the bags you suck the air out of and it was great for my big sweaters and coats

The packing struggle is real! I went over to the UK with my husband and daughter in August and we took two bags each so that helped get the bulk of stuff over there. Now I have things like photos and laptops and my son’s coveted PS4 - you know the heavy stuff - lol. Thinking I can get it all in two bags plus a carry on and come in under the max weight. The extra bag fee is way cheaper than shipping that’s for sure!

Oh I feel ya. I’ll pay for one extra bag and instead of my purse I’ll take a travel bag I can stick my papers and  laptop and notebook in, then have a carryon bag with jewelry and makeup haha . I’ve stuck actual pictures I want in the fronts of the suitcases and scanned a lot and put on a memory stick., and stuck a few small knick knacks in between clothes

I have one check-in luggage, and one carry on. This was after donating a ton of items to Goodwill. Definitely makes me live a minimalist lifestyle while waiting to leave haha.

Side note: Has anyone seen the Christmas decorations in the UK?! I'm following a ton of Instagram accounts, and Christmas looks magical in the UK! I cannot wait to celebrate the holidays.

How much is the extra baggage fee, I'm thinking to do 6 suitcases but im not sure. I would have to pay for 3.

Christmas in the UK is awesome, we went last year, all the kids and my entire family. It was pretty nice

It’s $100 with United Airlines - not sure about other carriers
