She had no choice, she had to book the flights. Its literally a 3 hours lay over. So she and her family probably not even leaving the airport.

That's all really sad though, alot of money wasted.

Do you know her personally? I'm a travel agent...just wanted to suggest that she contact her credit card company to see if they have trip protection included. Some do. Otherwise, I can recommend an outside travel insurance company but unfortunately they don't consider a visa issue to be a covered reason for cancelling. Good luck to her!

I just applied on Monday and it gave me the option to upload myself or send to NYC. I chose the send to NYC option and it did not make me upload anything so I think they got that glitch fixed.

Ah yes that definitely is new , as when we were investigating the new method (literally a week ago!), it didn't allow you choose 'send to NYC' :)

Did y’all do anything about the suite number that’s different on the shipping label compared to where the biometric address shows to send it to. I’ve seen it in the past but didn’t know if I needed to address it

It may be that it doesn’t even go to the wrong suite at all... they may be aware of the typo and so just direct everything to the correct one.

I'm sure this is the case.

I wish I could say I'm amazed that they haven't corrected it yet but it doesn't surprise me a bit!

Hi all!

I hope that everybody is having a beautiful day so far.

I just have a few questions that I'd love some assistance on if that's okay. I haven't really been able to discern concrete answers to these with the thread and other threads on the site.

My wife and I are getting ready to send off our application - hopefully by next Monday and we are doing this with priority. Can I just confirm a few things with people that have just gone through this same process?

- Will the supporting documents my wife who is based in NY is sending to the NY hub need to be sent on special size paper? We seem to be seeing conversations stating that it should be sent UK A4 paper size or US size. Can anybody confirm the size?
Also, we are sending legible copies of our documents. Has anybody also done this? We saw on the VSF website that this is something that we could do so I have not sent originals to my wife in the US. I really hope that this won't be a problem - copies of inspection report, bank statements sent to me from the bank etc.

- Are we required to use a specific courier when sending our documents? I know that the courier we use to get our documents back to us with UPS and paid via VFS (i think?) but in regards to sending our entire package to them, is there a preferred courier? Which one did you guys use?

It's really crazy that there are different instructions on gov.uk and vfs - this process is tedious enough to now have worry about whether you're following the correct instructions or not on official websites :(

Would appreciate all the help! Thank you in advance  :)

Hi Kelshe!

I am only gonna answer the only below as that is what I am 100% confident in :)

- Are we required to use a specific courier when sending our documents? I know that the courier we use to get our documents back to us with UPS and paid via VFS (i think?) but in regards to sending our entire package to them, is there a preferred courier? Which one did you guys use?

Yes, UPS.

VFS can provide shipping labels which are from UPS and you will put the return label into the package, which they will then use to send back to you.

If you decide to go directly to a courier, it MUST be UPS. And you must follow the same process of putting the return label inside the package.
