They do work weekends in Sheffield when it's busy. We've had people get approval emails on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as at random times of the day and night in the past.
I’m hoping they don’t want to start the new year with a huge backlog so work furiously to get all our apps processed before the end of the year -

So people seem to be saying documents arrived in NY - was this through an email of receipt or just from tracking on UPS?

We tracked our package and it arrived the next day ( sent 19th Nov, Arrived 20th) but didn't receive any confirmation letter from NY.
The confirmation from NY seems to be hit and miss?

I don't think you get a confirmation from NY (though I could be wrong) - I assume people are going by their UPS tracking details.

The confirmation email comes from Sheffield a couple of weeks later.

This is correct - I did not get a confirmation from NY but could see that it was signed for when I tracked my package.

This is her timeline.

App (priority): Sept 18
Bio: Sept 26
Docs received (in NY): Oct 5 (confirmed by email same day)
Escalated: Nov 6
Online app received email: Nov 18
Decision made email: Nov 21
WD: 41

Her docs scanned under wrong ref#

I'm on the same timeline as her (bio was also Sept 26th). Still waiting and was hopeful when I heard she had received her decision, but after contacting our MP earlier this week Sheffield emailed me asking for proof I had purchased priority service. I had and had also included that receipt in my application packet sent to Sheffield. I think it would be wise for people who have been waiting +30WD to seek out confirmation that they are in the correct pile. It's possible things are not getting scanned correctly or missed. I'm not the first to have had this error happen under the new system, I believe. I'm very frustrated and it is hard to be happy for other people.

I also believe another person who applied priority received a decision in that group who had their bio on 10/15. They've not got their passport back yet as UPS tried to deliver on Thanksgiving to their office, I think, but they are hopeful it will be a yes.

Yes you are not the 1st person I'm seeing having to prove that you paid priority,  which is awful. I wrote mine all over the package that I sent.

I'm sure the other person is going to get a yes too. I think they were trying to deliver it for black Friday but her office is closed. I still have time to wait before I get antsy. Hope you hear something soon. Atleast it's good your mp is on it.

For the accommodation evidence, you need:
-  a printed copy of the Land Registry document from the website (which you can get and download yourself for £3)
- a letter from your mum giving you both permission to live with her and confirming that the home will not be overcrowded (by listing the number of bedrooms + living rooms, and the total number of people who will be living there)

Optional extra:
- your mum’s latest annual mortgage statement, if she has a mortgage

Thank you! Can you provide me the link please? I’ve been looking but a bit confused on the correct link and form. The land registry that my mum has doesn’t say her name on it and I’m not too sure why. She owns the house. Is it possible that the previous owners name would still be on it? Any assistance on this would be appreciated!

Thank you

The Land Registry site is here, just enter the house details in the 'Find a Property' box, then you want the £3 registry document:

It should definitely have her name on it, because otherwise the previous owner would still officially own the property.

My Land Registry document has my name at the bottom of the first page, as follows:

B: Proprietorship Register
This register specifies the class of title and identifies the owner. It contains any entries that affect the right of disposal.
Title absolute
1 (30.03.2016) PROPRIETOR: [MY NAME] of [MY ADDRESS]
2 (30.03.2016) The price stated to have been paid on 24 March 2016 was £XXX,XXX.
3 (30.03.2016) The Transfer to the proprietor contains a covenant to observe and perform the covenants referred to in the Charges Register and of indemnity in respect thereof.

Okay perfect, thank you! I did the search and paid the £3. It shows up in my mother’s name which is great. Was a little scared then lol. So I can use this PDF copy as evidence? I’m getting her mortgage statement from her on Tuesday. Just received the property inspection report yesterday in the post. It’s all coming together  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

Also, just a quick question on providing evidence for communication. What format do you recommend for sending time stamps? Our main communication platform was WhatsApp. Should have pages of screenshots (3-4) per month or are plain text timestamps from an exported chat from WhatsApp enough? I feel like the plaintext one looks like anybody could have easily put it together on word as it is so plain and when downloaded, it actually allows you to edit it like a normal word document (on notes). I’ve also got evidence such as emails, phone calls from different months ( don’t have many as FaceTime doesn’t store this smh).

What do you guys think/what did you guys do on yours?

The PDF is fine for the Land Registry.

You do NOT need a Property Inspection Report, so you can take that out of your documents pile..

For communication, what period of time are you covering with your WhatsApp messages, emails and phone calls?

You don't want to include more than 2-3 pages total for each type of communication, covering the entire relationship/entire time you have used that communication type.

So,
- 2-3 pages of phone calls
- 2-3 pages of emails... just screenshots of your inbox showing dates, names and subject lines. No email content should be included
- 2-3 pages of WhatsApp messages... just take a few screenshots of messages on your phone, paste them into Word and crop out all the actual message content. You can probably get about 20-30 messages/calls/emails on 1 page, and you want to include a maximum of about 60-80 of each in total.

See my example of what the WhatsApp screenshots might look like (at the bottom of the post):

Thank you for your response.

We're going through the Visa4UK Settlement application and we're stuck on two sections where we're unsure of who it applies to, sponsor or applicant.

1. Family Details: Father & Mother, are these the sponsor or applicant's? photo: https://imgur.com/toGIdyv
2. Employment photo: https://imgur.com/NYUE7Pw

Both apply to the applicant.

They ask for details of the applicant’s parents to make sure they don’t already have claim to UK citizenship through their parents.

All the online applications ask for the applicant’s employment details, so even though their employment cannot be considered for a spousal visa, you still have to give the details.

The sponsor’s employment details are then given on the VAF4a Appendix 2 form, in the relevant financial requirement section.
