I saw in that screenshot of the email wanting more documents that it asks for declaration of source of cash savings and evidence of source. What exactly do they want? If the money has been accumulated over a long period of time from wages/gifts what are you supposed to show?

If it's cash savings from wages then you just write that in the box on the application form and state it in the sponsor letter of support. I don't think you can do any more than that... unless they want a separate statement from you in a letter, maybe?

If any of it is a gift, you should provide a letter from the person/people who gave you the money stating that it is a gift, not a loan and will not be repaid to them.

It really is. I'm starting to get very discouraged. It seemed last week people were starting to hear back and some approvals came through which made me feel better. However, This week's story seems to be about everyone getting emails asking to scan and send docs they should already have at the home office. Don’t know if anyone else feels as helpless as I do right now  :\\\'( I’ve had more than one good cry over it in the last few days.

Applying via Cash Savings (Priority Spouse) route and I received an email yesterday stating:

"The UK Decision Making Centre is currently assessing the application submitted by the above named. Due to a technical error with scanning your documents we are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.

Please provide the following documents:"

- Lists nearly all of the documents, APART FROM biometrics, appendix, passports (ie. stuff I can't get again).

This is one of the most stressful processes of all time and they are incompetent at best.

We're both out in the states so lucky I took copies of the things I couldn't replace such as bank statements.

Everyone should keep copies of everything or only send copies. I do not understand how it seems they have some documents but not all of them. I also hope my passport is safe too because I have no idea where my original package is and when they plan to send it back.

I feel sorry for anyone else going through the same process.

Good luck!

It's asked me to include the Application Reference in the subject line.

Is this the GWF # or the VAF # they've included in the email?

I would use the VAF# in the subject if that's what they gave and include the GWF# in the body too. Sounds like a pure lack of training in NY while this rolled out or major technical problems :(

According to UPS docs arrived 20th Nov yes but thats the only indication we've had that anything is happening.

Thats interesting that we have pretty much identical timelines and we got our email  :-\\\\

I had to split my attachments into 2 emails because they kept returning as undelivered due to too high email size.

I only received an automated confirmation of receipt on the first email, but not the 2nd where I sent the other half of the attachments. I am hoping they just send 1 receipt out instead of how many times you email.

Anyway, I made it clear in both emails it was 1 OF 2 and 2 OF 2.

Has anyone else ran into this? Also is there any estimated timeline at which they respond to additional documents.. ie. am I now at the back of the priority queue again?

Yeah, I'm actually incredibly shocked and quite honestly disgusted at how bad the VFS Global website is. My wife and I spent the entire day yesterday trying to upload our documents for them to be sent to them. As well as pay priority. An entire day. We kept on being hit with an error message, with no explanation to what the actual error was. We had to experiment to actually get it to work. It's honestly incredible how they are getting away with charging so much money and delivering the most ridiculous service I've seen for a very long time.

I'm in quite a few groups and almost everybody that has sent their supporting docs using the scan function is getting hit back with the "scanning error" email, requesting for almost all docs to be sent again. We have our docs ready to be scanned in the case we get emailed the same. Hopefully not :(

If you keep getting the error, is there an option to say you will be posting rather than scanning the documents?

I just don’t understand how if you scan something, the documents just disappear. This is a total lack of management and a less than par scanning system. We scan things every day and it doesn’t eat the paper we just scanned. This just makes me sick

Nope. You can't even bypass it to then just pay for priority, to get the receipt and then send in your docs. That was what we were just going to do if we continued to get the error message. Thankfully we were able to upload but again, this was by experimenting due to my wife's background knowledge of being a website developer. I don't think most people would know what to do. Truly insane and so stressful.

Knowing a fair bit about how document management systems work, there's a lot of ways things can be "lost", from the initial scan to being classified wrong or going to an errors queue, but usually the physical documents are organised enough for a quick rescan when needed (at least, when I worked for banks they were... I would expect a visa processing company to have similar controls). I'm surprised that that it took this long for them to reach out to the people who had purchased priority receipts though, they should all get refunds imo. :(
