Today we started making plans for my daughters b'day. My husband will be traveling over (its bitter sweet - a trip that we never planned on because we were moving)

We might until Friday to get the ticket (but the prices are pretty good now, so we will see what the week brings)

How long does it usually take for them to add the tracking info with UPS? Mine still isn't showing anything other than "ready to receive"
Congrats!! It’s sure to be a yes! Mine was shipped the same afternoon - got the email at 5am US pacific time and my package was on its way by 3pm pacific time

Right now it is showing it was picked up in NYC this evening and just got scanned in Newark. No update on the expected delivery though :( Just need to know if I should adjust my work schedule tomorrow or Wednesday!

Hey :)

We have a similar timeline. I’m sure that we’ll be hearing from them soon.

It’s looking like they are starting to process applications sent from mid November now, which is great. We’ll get there :)

Thanks Kelshe ...yes our  time line is close . I think if we had the email that Sheffield had the docs i would feel better , at least we would know they  had been scanned and not sitting in pile at the NY scanning hub . Its been 21 days since biometrics were completed . I calculated minus the holidays Christmas, boxing day and New years day  and the weekends .
I am tempted to send them an email .

I hear you. We eventually sent an email  asking if they had at least received it and not long after that received an email telling us that Sheffield had it and was getting ready to be considered by the eco.

I know most say that sending emails are a waste of money and I’d probably agree. I can’t say for certain that our email prompted their own email because it seems like they nothing seems to be standardised there but it was a relief to receive it. So I understand wanting it.

The price of the email covers all emails that you would send so when you look it that way, it doesn’t seem too bad. That’s how I rationalised it anyway lool

After @JustJac said she received her "Documents received" email, I broke down and sent it because we are on the same timeline... I did receive a reply quickly that they had received my docs but never (unless it went to my deleted folder and i deleted it) received any other emails... I panic that my email's are not coming through  ::) and I am missing things, so I check each folder often.

Updated advisory from the UK. Looks like they changed the mailing address on where to send the documents.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/usa-apply-for-a-uk-visa/apply-for-a-uk-visa-in-the-usa?fbclid=IwAR0xtT5PqIkvY5Nu81TLNS34SeBgwi2ggTSHorwyua7p5Ntzd50N_5uEDx8

This just blows my mind of how stuff like this changes so quickly, especially if people have just sent off documents or are about to. AND, if say their biometric letter does not show the new address.

If you could catch this so quickly, I would hate to think how slow a lawyer or solicitor would not see this. Thank goodness for this forum!

Someone in the FB group I'm in went to their Biometric yesterday and were given a new letter that did reflect this new address. So I guess that is something. :)

That's good - when they initially changed the settlement visa processing from New York to Sheffield in 2013, it took months for them to update the address and it caused all kinds of confusion!

At first, New York would forward applications to Sheffield, but after a few weeks, they started sending applications back and telling people to mail them to Sheffield instead... so if you did send it to New York by accident, it could add up to a month onto your processing time, while you waited for them to get to it, then mail it back, not to mention the time it took for Sheffield to receive and acknowledge it!

I just sent the dreaded email and we got the standard response " ..your request has been received  … give us 2 days to respond.." now we wait again . We have been checking the inbox and the spam box , nothing ever goes straight to my deleted box, UK yankee and britshexpats always go to my spam.

I think you get some thing this week it seems they are trying to meet the 30 day /6 week timeline . Having 3 holidays in the UK in the past few weeks has not helped.

Hopefully I will hear this week or next.. Once I sent my email, like you, I got a reply the next day, so maybe you will get a reply soon.. I think it's just a standard reply, but it made me feel better  ;)
