This is the quietest time of year historically!  January/February are by far the quietest times to apply.  Summer is the busiest, followed by the Christmas rush.

I need someone to help me step away from the Facebook group… I keep seeing wrong advice being given left and right and it is really hard for me not to matter-of-factly tell the people asking for help that they’re getting incorrect advice!!! I feel like I'm coming off as such a b*tch but I hate to see people's time and emotions wasted 😕
I left that Facebook group pretty fast. That site doesn't provide any real help at all.

I just read shake my head and move on. I think the 'guru' of the group is the worst. She knows some stuff but also gives wrong info. She gave me wrong info too about my son and freaked me out.

For your sanity just dont argue with them.

I'm still in there for entertainment purposes only. I do give advise where I can and one wouldn't take telling about not giving their passport in so I had to make it into a 'I told you so moment'.

Well one girl in that group acctually sent me a PM last night asking my opinion on a few things because our circumstances are similar and she was tired of feeling bullied into advice by some of the folks in the group. I advised her to join this group for the most accurate info, so hopefully she'll follow through.

Its a hot mess, and then you have the know it all bunch. To be honest it doesnt even pop up as much  anymore in my phone. I havent been un there for a few days.

I also recommended someone to this group. Dont think they use it as much because they are always panicking over in the facebook group even after I have said what it should be.

I hope so. They did say they cannot give a time scale for when a decision will be made,however please be assured that we are continuing to work on the application and will make a decision as soon as we are able to, we aim to contact you as soon as an update is provided.

Funnily enough, came across somebody on Reddit who was asking for experiences and was going to join UKY as I suggested but it "cost money" to join (£1donation to deter trolls) and that they heard it's "not very good" here. I asked where they heard that and what it was they were told because I imagine it's probably from a group (like that FB) that has given the wrong information.
My, how time flies....

* Married in the US and applied for first spousal visa August 2013
* Moved to the UK on said visa October 2013
* FLR(M) applied for  May 2016. Biometrics requested June 2016. Approval given July 2016.
* ILR applied for January 2019 (using priority processing). Approved February 2019.
* Citizenship applied for May  2019
* Citizenship approved on July 4th 2019
* Ceremony conducted on August 28th 2019

'Mommy, Wow! I'm a legit Brit now!'

It’s crazy the mindset some get.  I was in  that same Facebook group long enough to hear so many wrong things that I didn’t last long there. I hang out here more than Facebook... love the people on this site
