Welcome to the forum!  :)

I'm sure you didn't expect such a quick decision, which date did you nominate as your intended date of travel?

June 20th! We figured this way, if we messed anything up, we would still stand a chance of making our intended “landing date” in the U.K. Certainly a major surprise to have the visa approved this soon. Still, it means we may be able to get a pretty good deal on plane tickets, and when you have five people traveling at once, that’s a huge bonus. 😊

We suggest nominating the earliest date that you will be ready to travel so that you don't find yourself stuck when all you want to do it move! If the date has passed by the time they get to work on your application, they will make the vignette valid from around the time the decision is made.

Late June is going to be an expensive time to travel whenever you book but you're right, the earlier you do it, the better.
Make sure that you wait until you receive your vignette to check that everything is in order before you do book anything though.  :)

We have a few projects to complete here before we get going, and our oldest daughter will need to complete her school year before the move, so June is about the earliest we want to switch continents. Our UPS tracking number is on the move now, so we’ll have our docs and hubby’s passport back on Friday. Fingers crossed! Skyscanner has some promising deals on flights at the moment, so we’ll see if we can snag those. 😃

Can confirm! My mom just booked flights from Boston to London Heathrow for her and my dad and it came to $1600-ish total for both of them (so like $800 and they booked because prices kept rising) just as a heads up!
My, how time flies....

Greetings all! We applied priority, and this is how it went:

We submitted our application (hubby is the USC) on Feb 3rd; uploaded docs on Feb 6th; attended biometrics on Feb 8th; sent packet containing all scanned docs (just to be sure) on Feb 8th; packet received in NY Feb 12th; “prepared for consideration by ECO” email on Feb 14th; decision made email March 6th!

Now we’re just waiting for the packet with the passport in it to arrive back with us. We chose UPS two-day shipping because we couldn’t get the VFS labels to print out, so hopefully it won’t be too long. Fingers crossed for a lovely little vignette!

That's record breaking speed fast. :) Congrats! I have to say, the stress that you have before your apply and after you apply may be different, but it still sucks. LOL

Hi everyone ,

Settlement visa : Spouse ( husband ) Priority
Online application submitted: 19 January 2019
Biometrics taken:  28 January 2019
Applicant docs sent to NYC : 30 January 2019
Applicant Docs delivered to NYC: 31 January 2019
Application received email from Sheffield : 5 January 2019
Decision made email: None
Passport received:  7 March 2019

30 WD from biometrics !

We asked for our travel date to be 1 May 2019 on the application, the vignette is from 24 Apr to 24 May , so it now gives us time to book flights, sell the house, pack......eeeek !

We're both still shaking as it was a complete surprise.  Lol. We opened the envelope and pulled out all our documents and didn't see the passport still in the envelope at first !

Hoping everyone still waiting hears very soon .
