Seems like either their system isn't forwarding the emails properly or perhaps they are being marked as 'spam' when some people send in their documents.

Is there any chance you could share the email address you were given where you did get an automated response? I understand if you don't want to, but I just want to make sure my email gets through to Sheffield.
Hi. I sent you a PM

Hi there,

Newbie here! I'm a British citizen and married my husband (a U.S. citizen) in 2014 when the law changed to allow same-sex marriages in the UK.

Our story is fairly complicated in that we made some mistakes when we originally got married with my husband marrying on a visitor visa and overstaying.

To cut a long story short (maybe I'll go into this another time!) we both moved to the U.S. a few months after marrying in the UK and have lived here ever since. We both dearly miss the UK. Our family and friends are all there, and life just isn't the same over here.

Late last year we hired a really good, well respected immigration lawyer in the UK to help us prepare our settlement visa application.

Attended biometrics earlier in January, sent the documents to Sheffield, and now we are nervously awaiting the outcome.

I received an email earlier this week from Sheffield asking for more information on the business I run over in the US (they wanted confirmation that i am the sole director of the business). I sent off the confirmation (with corresponding statement of information/articles of incorporation documents to prove it) and am now just waiting to hear back. Is it normal to not receive any type of confirmation email when you email Sheffield back? I want to make sure they received my email.

I'm not sure how to add/edit a signature, so will put our timeline on this post for now:

Email sent to ECO with further info: 6 Mar 2019

Passport Received: TBC
Decision: TBC

I had to send them additional documents on Thursday (six total because of size limitations) and I haven’t gotten any confirmation. I guess I’ll send them again this weekend and ask for a confirmation?

This feels crazy.

Can you let me know if you ever get a confirmation?

Still waiting on the UPS man here. We’re always the last spot on his regular route, so we occasionally wait until 8:00 p.m. to receive parcels. It’s driving me crazy to wait today! Could be another 15 minutes; could be another almost two hours. Suspenseful stuff!

Right: the UPS man came and brought us our package.

It's...

...a...

YES!

Immediately after that, the poor UPS man got stuck in the mud in our yard (we live in the country), so hubby had to attach a chain and pull him out with our SUV. That was a first. It'll make this delivery extra memorable, for sure!

Best of luck to the rest of you! We waited 20 working days from biometrics to vignette in hand. 😊

Congrats! 20 days is very short, seems like things are moving quickly at the moment which is encouraging (we apply next week).

Hi everyone,

I came across this forum and decided to share my timeline and see if there is anyone here in a similar situation. I believe today is our 77th working day! After two previous escalations we finally contacted an MP two weeks ago and got a reply today saying they would look into it. Needless to say, I am getting very discouraged and it's been really difficult to have my life in limbo for so long. I'm sure others here can relate!

Is anyone else here still waiting on an application submitted in November, and does anyone know why an application would take this long? The only thing on our application which might make it more complex is that my husband moved back to the UK from the US for a new job before we applied so we are meeting the income requirement through that previous US job and his current UK one.

I applied in November and still waiting. I'm on the same timeline as @MrsPoetryMan. I think there were issues with scanning for people who applied in November

Sorry to hear you've had a long wait as well. Ah scanning issues...so frustrating but maybe next week will be our week since there seem to be a lot of decisions coming through now!
