Just so you’re aware, the ‘application being prepared’ email is just an email to say that they have the documents and your application has been put in the waiting line along with all the other applications.

Before the new system, your processing time count didn’t start until you got that email. Now, we’re not quite sure if the processing time starts from when New York get your application, or when Sheffield get it. No one will actually look at it until the day the decision is made.

Anyway, I would allow for another 30 working days from receiving the email, though it sounds like it could be quicker than that.

Yes - I didn't get that email for 23 working days from when my documents arrived in NY, so it's nice to know that people are now getting it much sooner. Even if it doesn't mean much for timing, it's nice to know the application/documents are there! It's nerve-wracking not to know!

How is everyone doing this week? Any updates on emails/approvals? @ML123 I know we're on the same timeline... hopefully you've heard that your documents were received after they requested you to resend?

Never heard they were recieved so tried sending them again, still nothing. Contacted my husbands MP on Monday with the documents and asked for help getting them to U.K. DMC.

Just got a decision made email this morning, so documents must have got there from his MP??

And now I’m refreshing my UPS tracking every five minutes...

Hope yours comes soon!

I'm just happy they have said they have it. A few people I've seen get the decision email around 2-3 weeks after the email I received. Which (timewise) is about what the Priority 'should' be taking.

Our package made it to NYC on Friday and we got our Sheffield email on Monday! Trying not to get my hopes too high, but it would be awesome to be approved by the time my job ends in May.

I'm really sorry you got stuck with such a rubbish MP :( I don't know of any channel you can use to formally complain outside of emailing them your feedback which they will probably promptly ignore :(

Idk what I can do either... I'm just going to have to wait... :(

Congrats to those getting their emails back so promptly! We're looking to apply later today/tomorrow, are people uploading documents or sending them to post? Just want to understand what's working for everyone else so far!

We did the upload and it worked easy (though very slow and tedious) enough. The site seems to be very hit or miss on uploading for those applying. If you try to do the upload, just be very patient, upload 1 section 1 file at a time. That's what worked for us. Good luck!

Also, UPLOAD all documents before purchasing your Priority option if you are submitting priority. We were unable to upload any documents once we purchased priority service.

SOOO This!

OK great thanks for the tip! And what if we are unable to submit something or we omit a document, should the missing documents alone be sent by post with the application/passport?

I'm sure it won't happen but I'm very much a "check 54 times cut once" kinda guy so sorry if it seems like a silly question.
