Just putting this out there... when I got my biometrics done, the lady there told me to put the word PRIORITY PROCESSING on the outside of the envelope when I sent everything. She said it helped to make sure they got it didn’t take long to get t on the top of the pile. She said it was a help to the people in New York.
Not sure if it makes any difference or not, but I did it.

It doesn’t just make a difference, it’s a requirement (or at least it used to be).
Not sure if it is still the case, but before the new system, when you still mailed everything to Sheffield, packages were sorted into Priority and Non-priority in the mailroom, before they were even opened.
So, if you did not write SETTLEMENT PRIORITY PROCESSING in ‘very large letters’ (as per VFS Global instructions) on the outermost packaging, your application would be put in the non-priority pile and it could be several weeks before anyone realised it was a priority application... by which point you would have missed out on the faster processing.
