Documents are currently in NY awaiting delivery (apparently they tried on Saturday but failed because the office was closed no doubt), hoping there won't be any further problems so we can get moving on it!

I’d be careful about believing this. The contact centre is known for giving incorrect information. They have told several people in the past that a decision had been made on their application, when in fact their application had not yet been processed... which is why we do not recommend contacting them.

When a decision has been made, you will get an email from UKVI directly - this email is usually sent within a few hours of the decision being made.

I can feel your pain - I received a text this morning that a UPS package was delivered and I was in such a state of panic until I could find my shipping label and realized it wasn't the same one. I can imagine the emotional turmoil this possibly incorrect email is causing!

Still no change on the UPS tracking? You can reply back to the email for free and maybe ask for clarification. But as others have mentioned, I'm not sure if the people on the other end of the emails really know whats going on.

It might be, it might not be.

But until you get the actual ‘decision made’ e-mail from Sheffield themselves, I would assume it hasn’t been processed yet.

UKVI usually send out the ‘Decision Made’ e-mail within a couple hours of the visa being processed, so the fact that the enquiry centre says a decision has been made already, but you haven’t had an official decision made e-mail yet implies to me that they may not have actually made the decision yet.

Also, in your email they said ‘we have made a decision’, but the centre you contacted is a random call centre that has no access to your application, so ‘they’ haven’t made any decision... Sheffield does that bit :P.

Yeah, i'm checking on UPS at least twice a day (if not more). It's so annoying these outsourced companies are allowed to provide such a shoddy service on behalf of the UK government.

It might be, it might not be.

I thought the whole thing a bit weird.. especially the fact they had emailed me on a Sunday evening, which means they could only be looking at data from the last working day (Friday). Which is why I thought it odd that i hadn't received a Sheffield email if a decision had indeed been made.

I've responded to the email anyway, basically asking them when the alleged decision had been reached and letting them know that there is no movement on the UPS package and no email from Sheffield as yet.

I'm guessing they either won't respond or won't be very helpful.

Ah well, lesson learned!

So everything got delivered and signed for fine yesterday in NY, should I be expecting an email to say it's been received in New York or is the next email for them to have it in Sheffield?

Hey guys getting antsy waiting on the package! It seems going by timelines some recieve their package either next day or two days after the decision made email.

We got ours on Friday and now its tuesday night and still nothing. :(

UPS Tracking tells us Scheduled Delivery

"When the shipment arrives at our facility the delivery date will be updated."

So it seems by that it hasnt even been posted yet? Am I freaking out over nothing?

Visa Type: Spouse Visa

Application received email from Sheffield: March 4th 2019
Decision made email: 22/03/19

The next email will be from Sheffield.

So they don't send you anything to say they have it in New York? Good job we have the tracking number confirmation or I'd be having a heart attack! Hopefully will hear back from Sheffield in the next couple days...

Still nothing today. Its our anniversary this Friday (5 years married) so we're going to take advantage of the lovely California weather and go on a drive and stay somewhere near the coast (should also take our mind off of this horrible wait!)

Enjoy! That will be a lovely way to take your mind off it. Still nothing on my end either...

Just an update:

I got another email today from the same email service, basically repeating what they said in the last email (i.e. a decision has been made).

I decided to give them a call - mostly to tell them that i think their email is inaccurate. On the phone the guy was a lot more helpful/insightful. He said a decision HAS been made, but the application has been selected for review.

What does that mean? Has that ever happened to anyone before?  :-\\\\

No idea. In my 12 years on this forum, I have never heard of anything happening after a decision has been made.

Once a decision is made, that’s it, your passport and documents are returned to you within a couple of days.

The only thing I can think of is that someone has looked at your application and has referred it to someone else for further review.... but that would happen before a decision is made, not after.

As you have not yet received your official ‘decision made’ e-mail, I would assume that a decision has not yet been made and that they are still processing it.

My advice:
Be patient and stop emailing and calling the ‘enquiry centre’ - you’re just wasting your money.
