That is a bit odd. Did you pay for priority?

It's really not.  At times it takes 6 weeks or so for the email to come from Sheffield.

Yes we did.

I was expecting a slightly longer wait to process, given the number of bank holiday's in the UK and the issues with ASC biometrics before Easter, but thought we would have had an email confirming receipt of it.

I guess we will just have to be patient!

I was in a Facebook group and someone posted a picture of their generic email response from reaching out to UKVI and it has a few lines about priority service and that you can respond to escalate after 30 days. My husband and I reached out (I know it's not helpful or accurate, but it made us feel like we were doing something) and our email doesn't say anything about priority and says we can respond to escalate if it's been 60 days. Does anyone know if this might mean ours ended up not in the priority pile?

Not what you are going to want to hear but there is no such thing as an escalation.  It's just a term used by the third party team who is contracted by UKVI to receive and respond to queries.

But yes, 60 days is the standard processing time and usually an MP cannot help if you are within those 60 days.

I know escalating will do nothing ☹️ I'm just wondering if everyone priority usually gets the generic email where everything says 30 days and if our generic email says 60 days does that mean ours didn't make it into the priority pile?

I've only heard of the 60 day email, never a 30 day email.

We are in a similar situation.  According to UPS our priority application was received in NY on May 4.  We haven't received any emails confirming the documents have been received or sent to Sheffield.  It's comforting to hear that others are experiencing the same thing.  It sounds like we can contact our MP if we don't hear anything within 30 business days.

Our timeline:
Married:  20/04/2019
Submitted online application:  23/04/2019
Biometrics appointment:  02/05/2019
Documents received in NY per UPS:  04/05/2019

Hey Harcm, wondering if you have heard anything back yet regarding your application, or are you still in limbo?

Hi gman90.  I was thinking about asking you the same thing.  We haven't heard anything, not even an acknowledgement that VFS received our package which per UPS arrived on May 4.

I assume since you're asking me you haven't heard anything either?

Gman90 - I received an automatically generated email from Sheffield this morning acknowledging receipt of my application.  It says if I haven't already submitted my documentation I should do so, so it doesn't give confirmation that my documents are in Sheffield.

It says UKVI aims to complete a priority application within 6 weeks, or 12 weeks for non priority.  They'll contact me if they need additional documentation.  Otherwise, I'll be contacted by "the commercial partner at the application centre where you submitted your application when your decision is ready for collection".  I assume this is VFS in New York?  I sent a return address label with my application so I believe they'll mail it.

The online account I created with VFS when I paid for priority service isn't working.  I live within driving distance of NYC.  I may attempt to go to their office to be sure they are able to contact me if needed.

I hope that your visa is progressing.

This is good news, I think this is the generic email they send out once the application has begun to be processed. I did ask because we still haven't heard anything regarding ours. Perhaps we should get one soonish then!
