Decision made email was May 23rd, but the helpline and another source both told me the decision was made on the 26th. My vignette is dated as beginning May 29th, so obviously something went wrong somewhere. But we finally have it and I can fly this weekend!!!!

Thank you so so so much to everyone on this forum for your help!!

Congratulations :D.

The vignette is usually dated to start 7 days after the decision is made, so May 29th sounds about right for a decision made around May 23rd (it could have been issued on May 22nd, but you didn't get the email until the 23rd).

Thank you!! And oh OK! Works for me 😊

I also just actually read my BRP letter closely and it says I have Leave to Enter as SPOUSE/CP from 29 May 2019 to 29 May 2024. We applied for a military spouse visa, but his service contract ends about six months before by five years would be up. Does this mean they just gave it to us for the whole five years anyway??

Looks like they did - that's great :).

Of course, though, I'd check your BRP when you pick it up to make sure it does in fact have those dates on it and that it's not an error on the letter :).

The official guidance says it will be granted for the shortest of:
- 5 years
or
- remainder of his service

But maybe they decided to give you the full 5 years anyway, since it's only 6 months off.

Congratulations!! That's fantastic news. Just curious, what was the nominated travel date? I'm a bit worried now about this 7 days from decision situation, as I am unable to travel until mid-July and put July 20th for date of entry.  ???

My intetended travel date was May 2nd, so I'm not a great example. But I believe if they process it before your intended date it should be valid starting a week before the date you chose until three weeks after.

Then they should (hopefully) make yours valid from around July 13th. For my app, I requested December 23rd as my travel date and that was the starting date for my vignette - even though I received it in November.

They *should* honor your date, but sadly they don't always.  You won't know until you get it though.

Just curious, are you from Orlando?  Yes, I am reading into the MCO screen name.  ;D
