Picked up my package today with my freshly APPROVED visa in it this morning!!

Have spent the last two days convincing myself to not get my hopes up and it will *probably* be a no. We are so thrilled and the reality of it all is still setting in. May all the decisions and approvals out there give hope to everyone waiting for an answer, they are coming!

Also a few follow up notes from this whole experience:

-There was no approval letter, just my returned original documents, passport pics, and passport. I assume this is normal/okay?

-UPS has been super slow and delayed, was quite a hassle organizing delivery. Waiting once the decision was made was the worst part.

-For all the lurkers out there, if you have questions, ASK HERE. We would NOT have been approved without the help of the amazing and informative members here, specifically ksand and KFdancer, larrabee and others. Their experience and insight is invaluable.

Try not to stress so much that it affects your physical or mental health!! I learned this the hard way. Also be gracious to your partner abroad, they are feeling the stress and weight of the visa journey as well. There IS a light to the end of this crazy intense bureaucratic tunnel.

Yay!!! Congrats!!!

Hmm no approval letter? Mine was right on top, and it states that you have to present it along with your passport upon arrival in the UK.

Are you sure it didn't get mixed in with the other papers? It's 2 sheets, front/back on the first and then just front on the 2nd sheet, and it gives you your BRP pickup location and other information about the visa and what it means.

Just double checked, and it's definitely not there. I don't think I need the second sheet anyways, as we applied for a Fiance/Marriage visa and I won't be getting a BRP for a while.

So no letter, but I'm hoping that the colourful new sticker in the middle of my passport saying "UK Entry Clearance" means it's approved   [smiley=shy.gif]

Oh ok maybe fiancé visas don't come with any additional paperwork, I thought it was a spouse visa. Congrats! And yes I'm guessing the sticker is a good sign

Congratulations, both of you :).

The fiancé visa does not come with any kind of approval letter... just the visa in your passport.

The only time you get a letter is for visas valid longer than 6 months as they need to give you instructions for how to pick up your BRP card once in the UK.

Fiancé visas are not issued as a BRP card because they are only valid for 6 months... hence, no letter.

Hi all! I've been lurking here a couple of weeks, and wish I had found this place sooner. Any chance my wife and I (she's the one applying for the visa) could get added to the list?

Biometrics sent:                   18th/31st Oct 2017 (there's a frustrating story behind this...)
Received in Sheffield:           10 Nov 2017
Decision email:                    ?
Landing in UK:                     ?

After seeing the quick returns recently I was really hoping she'd be here for Christmas, but it looks like it may be too late now :(.

Congratulations to all those who have received theirs!

Welcome! And don't give up yet, there's still a while until Christmas!  ;D

I'd be interested to hear your biometric story though.

And literally 2 minutes later KNOCK KNOCK, and it's an approval!

I really hope those that are still waiting hear something tomorrow, because this experience is terrible all around.

YAY congratulations! so happy for you

YAY congratulations! so happy for you

Thank you very much :) - have soo much to do over the next 10 days, but it's such an exciting time.  Something we've been talking and dreaming about for nearly 4 years, is finally going to happen.  There were times when it felt like it was just a fantasy and that we'd be apart forever.  Over the moon that isn't the case :D
