REGIT,

Yes, I love that site and specific link you sent with all the steps. My husband and I read it and kept referring back to it. Thank you ;)

Did you use UPS to send passport and the other things to NYC? If so, do you recall which UPS service you used and how fast it was?

Thank you!

I purchased the UPS service through VFS - not really necessary but I didn't want to take any chances .  I got the round trip version.
The method was UPS 2 day service - I live in New York so it literally arrived at 10:30 the next day.

Just make sure to use UPS and not any other service -

All the other info you were asking about is in that link - don't overthink everything - you can ask 10 people a question and get a different answer from all 10 - makes things worse sometimes

Can someone tell me from when you are starting your countdown clock?
Are you following WD based on the date of online submission, date of biometrics or date of docs scanned/received in New York?

Is it just me or does it seem like the processing time has picked up a bit and not so long as it was a couple of months ago?

Hi Regit,

You are officially the guinea pig for the new process.  You are the first on our site to use the new option for UK sponsor to take documents to the scanning hub.  So will be interesting if it improves or hurts timelines while they link everything up.

Just a word of warning, best to not recommend sites other than the official UKVI.gov site.  While I'm glad you found the other site helpful, you've sent some unnecessary information that would have taken time to gather and cannot be considered as part of the application.  (letters of support, resume, transcripts, etc).

KF - understood...thanks for the heads up..Will be sure to edit my commentary in the future...

After my husband brought the documents for scanning, I went on the VFS website to try and scan for kicks and it wouldn't let me...said documents were already received in the system so at least it is immediately recorded.

Will keep you all informed...
Are you all counting down working days from submission of application or the date arrived in NY as your starting point?

Officially it should be from the date you receive your "case is being prepared for an entry clearance officer" email from UKVI.

I just went to UPS last night to mail my documents to New York, and they've already received them.  ;D

How do I add my dates to the bottom of my posts btw?

Edit: Nevermind. I found it. :)

You have to add a signature to your profile.

Go into your profile page, click on Modify Profile, then select Forum Profile. Then there's a box to enter in a signature about halfway down that page.

Hey KF, I called UKVI about that as I was stressed about that and they said it starts from the date of your biometrics :)

Hopefully, I get my answer soon! I'm 19WD today

I have applied for my spouse settlement visa from the USA. This is my fifth application since 2015.

My wife is British. We have been married since 2010.   Two British born children.  (You can probably think how difficult and miserable things have been) can’t live together permanently but have visited many times over the years and at great financial costs.
I am a US Citizen. Don’t ask about why they haven’t come to the USA, it’s a long complicated story.

First application in July 2015: refused due to not meeting financial income requirement.

Second in July 2016: refused for above reason.

Third in August 2019: withdrawn before biometrics and refunded months later.

Fourth in September 2019: withdrawn before biometrics and refunded months later.

Fifth and current (final) application: (Cat A: 6 months of employment by sponsor over the £18600 amount)
Application submitted online:  November 5 2019

Payments for IHS, Application, Priority, VFS Settlement premium service: November 5 2019

Biometrics and appointment to submit documents and passport for scanning at NYC UKVI Premium service center: November 6 2019

Passport and documents given back due to settlement premium service priority. All copies scanned and submitted to Sheffield at the UKVI VFS global center.

Application received email from Sheffield: November 7 2019

I did not mail out anything and I was told
I did not have to.

Waiting for this final decision. It has been hell.  What can I expect in terms of turn around. We are exhausted and financially just at the brink with having doled our thousands before for refusals and now nearly $6000 for Premium Spouse Settlement Premium Service.
Priority Settlement: I used the new access gov Uk website to apply.
Application online from USA: November 5, 2019
Biometrics/ documents scanned at VFS NY: November 6, 2019
Email of online application received by Sheffield: November 7, 2019
Email stating “case not straight forward will take more time for decision” received on December 17, 2019.
December 19, 2019: Decision is made email from Sheffield.
December 19, 2019: NY VFS UKVI service center emailed me to come with passport within 5 days.
Decision successful and Visa Approved!!!!!!!!!

Oh my... best wishes....this sounds like hell.

I'm curious why you chose to purchase the premium settlement service in addition to the priority service....did you need to keep your passport? I live in NY now.
I believe the timings are hovering around 22-32 days from what I've been seeing.

Hi MiseryOfLongDistance, welcome to the forum.  :)

I too am wondering why you paid for priority as well as Settlement premium as the latter includes the former service. Also, if money is tight, there was no need to use either of the expediting services although I understand why you would want to.
You should look at trying to get a refund for the settlement priority at least.

Good luck.
