Ok, I'm confused.  Just got a parcel from Sheffield with all of my documents returned; passport, birth certificate, payslips, bank statements, etc

Should this have happened? I thought it all went back to the US together?

Is this a bad sign?

Your passport, not your wife's?

If that's the case then they have probably mistakenly done what they do with applications from some of the other countries by returning the sponsors documents to them. They are not supposed to do that for US applications though, the whole package is supposed to go back to the US.

Is her passport there too? If so, look inside it for the visa!

Just mine (I checked the package about a hundred times)

Her package is sat in Gardena according to the UPS tracker

We paid for the shipping labels via the VFS website.  As far as I'm aware there was no mention of returning my docs to me directly.

It has me worried now that something's wrong

Please don't worry.  :) Anomalies like this happen all the time. It's likely just as I suggested earlier or perhaps just because you sent your original passport.
