Seitan

I don't know if there are any vegans at this website, but I have made seitan for the first time tonight in a mixed vegetable stirfry and I really like it! Who else here has tried to make it?

isn't that wheat gluten? i've never cooked it myself but i often get mock duck from our chinese takeaway which i think is made of it

That's right. I made it from a quick mix and I think with a little fiddling I'll be able to produce something as good as you can get from a Chinese restaurant. Well, it's something to shoot for!
